Discovery of Coal. I ANTHRACITE AT ABERCRAVE. I The outlook of the industrial prosperity of Abercrave allgurs well, owing to the discovery of a large new seam of anthracite coal of excellent quality and extensive pro- portions in close proximity to the Ncath and Brecon Railway Station. It has been estimated that the layer, which averages a thickness of from three to four feet of pure clean coal, covers an area of some fifteen hundred acros. The property belongs conjointly to Lord Tredegar, Mr J. E. Moore-Gwyn (Duffryn. Neath), and Mr Edwards- Vaughan (Rheola) and arrangements are being made for developments on a large scale by the proprietors of the International Anthracite Collieries. It it confidently expected that employment will be found for a few hundred additional men as soon as the necessary arrangements, which are proceeding apace, can be completed.
