CWMDU. The funeral took place on Tuesday, the IOth inst., of Mrs. Elizabeth Thomas, wife of Mr. T. Luther Thomas, Bridge House, Cwmdu. Deceased was 50 years of age and had only been ailing for a short period, influenza, supervened by pneumonia, being the cause of death. Mrs. Thomas, who was highly esteemed in the district, was a zealous member of Cwmdu Baptist Chapel. The funeral was one of the largest witnessed in the district. A short service was conducted at the house by the Rev. J. Price, vicar; Rev. T. G. Harries (B.), Rev. J. EvaM (C.M.), and the Rev. Stephen Thomas (Ind.) At the churchyard gate the body was met by the Rev. J. Price (vicar) and the Vicar of Abergorlech. At the graves ide the Rev. T. G. Harries gave out one of de- ceased's favourite hymns, Bydd myrdd o ryfeddodau." The mourners were:—Mr. T. Luther Thomas (husband) Mr. J. Evans, London (brother) Mrs. Williams, Coedely, and Mrs. Williams, Ynyshir (sisters) Mr. and Mrs. Williams. Hansadwrn (brother-in- Ilaw and sister); iVliss A. 1 homas, Aber- gorlech (aunt) Mr. Lewis, Abergorlech, and 1\1r. W. Jones, Llangadock (cousins); Miss J: Rees, Swansea (cousin); Mrs. Davies, K lng's Court, Talley (cousin) Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Thomas, Brechfa (brother-in-law and sister-in-law) Mr. and Mrs. T. Jones, Brechfa (brother-in-law and sister-in-law) Vf'" D. Thomas (brcther-in-law). The son, Mr. D. M. Luther Tho'mas was unable to attend, owing to being indisposed at the time, but we are pleased to hear that he is recover- ing. There were several beautiful floral tributes, and numerous letters of condolence were received from friends far and near. The bereaved husband and son wish to thank all who sympathised with them in their sorrow. May God grant them strength to bear the great burden after, having lost an excellent wife and a religious mother.
