BARMOUTH COUNTY SCHOOL GOVERNORS.
It was decided that the appointment should be left to a committee consisting of Mrs Gwynoro Davies, Mrs 0. W. Morris, Miss Richards, Alderman T. Martin Williams, the Rev. Z. Matber, and Mr Rhys Jones, with power to act. BEQUEST CFMMITTEE. The following were appointed on the Bequest Committee to award scholar- ships under the Lewis Lewis and John Morgan Bequest :-Alderman T. Martin Williams, Messrs Edward Williams, R. W. Jones, and Robert. Lloyd Williams. SCHOOL INSPECTION. It was reported that Mr Robinson, of the Central Welsh Board, bad visited the school and reported most favourably on the work carried out at the school under great disadvantage. I RED TAPISM. The Clerk read a communication from the Board of Education complain- ing that not sufficient notice bad been given as to the closing of the school over the "Easter vacation, but that no inconvenience bad been caused. Soch a notice should have been sent on the special forms supplied, but the notice was sent on a postcard which was received on April 18th. The Headmaster said that during the twenty-one years he bad been connected with the school, the Board of Education had not at any timo expressed any disapproval about any delay, but there might have been an oversight in not filling the proper forms which was due to the extra work at the school. He bad sent the postcard on the 9th or 10th of April. Mr Edward Williams said he believed that the Governors should protect the Headmaster in this matter, especially at this time when the school was under- staffed, No complaint bad ever been sent before. He considered it was aIr redtapism, and thought that the Educa- tion Authorities would have something better to do than find such trivial faults, especially as no inconvenience bad been caused. He thought that the matter was not worth mentioning at all. The Rev. Gwynoro Davies.—But they have the upper-band. COURT OF GOVERNORS I A letter was read from the Registrar of the Aberystwyth University College asking the Governors to appoint a representative on the Court of Governors for a period of three years. Mr Edward Williams enquired whether this body had any choice in the appointments of Professors at the College. The Rev. Gwynoro Davies.—No. Nothing at all. Mr Edward Williams.—If it had, I bad a resolution to propose. Mr John Davies proposed that the Rev. Gwynoro Davies should be elected as the Governors representative on the Court of Governors. Mr Edward Williams seconded, which was carried unanimously. A PROTEST. I Mr John Davies proposed that a protest should be sent against the proposal of removing Brigadier-General Owen Thomas, now in command of the Welsh Army at Kinmel Park. Mr Rhys Jones seconded, and it was carried unanimously. It was decided that the protest be sent to the War Office, Lord Kitchener, the Minister of Munitions, and the County Member. SCHOOL SUCCESS. I Mr J. J. Thomas proposed that the Governors should congratulate Mr Arthur Roberts, a pupil at the schooJ, on having won an entrance scholarship at the Bangor University College, which, no doubt, was a great credit to the school, as the examinations were most severe. Also the Headmaster and staff should be congratulated on such a success. The Rev. Z. Mather seconded, which was carried. The Governors only sat for an hour.
