BBRMQUTH READERS MAKE A NOTE. It is a good plan to make a note of anything worth remembering. A message a week has appeared in the Barmouth paper for many years past. You have probably read hundreds. If yon have not yet profited by them, make a carefnl note of the following. Its very earnestness must appeal to you. On January 8rd, 1909, Mrs E. Morris, of" Riviere," Abermaw Terrace, opposite the Harbour, Barmouth, said :—"I have been suffering, on and off, with pains in my back for about four years I have hardly known how to drag myself about. Many a timn I to t7r.vn »n the middle of my work to take a rest. It was torture getting up straight after stooping a bit. My feet and ankles swelled, and there was a puPaness under the eyes. I suffered dreadfully with headaches, too, and felt tired and drowsy. The kidney excretions were dis- ordered and caused distress when obtaining relief. I began to take Doan's backache kidney pills, and before I had got to the end of the box I felt ever so much better. As I went on wit,h the medicine my back grew easier, and I could get about my work freely and in comfort. I now feel brighter and better a different person in fact. Due allowance has been made tfor accrued inte- rest, and the book value of these securities as set forth in the Balance .Sheet stands con- siderably below cost price. A careful investigation as to the actual saleable value on 31st, December, 1915 (all minimum price quotations being greatly reduced). compared with the book value, shows that the Investments Reserve Funds arc much more than sufficient to meet any depreciation o' the permanent securities. Terminable securities have been valued on a basis which, with Sinking Funds already established, provides for the canalisation of the book values and the redemption values at the date of maturity. We certify that in our belief the Assets set forth in the Balance Shoot (having regard to the standards indicated) are in the aggregate fully of the value stated therein less the Investments Reserve and Contingency Funds taken into account, and make ample provision for all the liabilities of the Company.
