The above Society spent its summer cubing, as usual, at the Bungalow, Pen- rhya Point, and a very delightful time it was. About 120 people in all were out on holiday. Excursions were made during the week to Peumaenpool, by boat; to Harlech, where the whole party was kindly entertained by Mr George Davison, of Wernfawr ILdl; and to Snowdou, which a good number ascen- ded by the Cape! There was also a cricket match, The Guild versus which Lhe Guild maintained tbcir reputation and came out winners. The situation was a critical one. and had it not been for the timely help of one of their friends standing by, this year's camp would have had a sad story to teli. But Miss Doily Rainbow baFperjcd to he walking, fully drested, and during the year's practice at the baths had become a capable swimmer, she at once plunged in as she was and soccedcd in rescuing, not one only, but all her three friends, who were in grave danger. It tells the mo:e for her cour- age that all the giris she rescued were about the same age as herself, and one considerably bigger. On Sunday the Camp attended the Fair bourne Presbyterian Church and Barmouth Congregational (Rev. Glan- dwr Morgan). The news of the declaration of war with Germany and the army mobilisa- tion very early cast a shadow over us and in the middle of the week one of out- number had to leave for the front. The rest, however, spent a happy time and were delighted with the place. One or two nighLs have been good for observation, and the moon and Jupiter proved very interesting, especially when seen with a good glass. During one of our Wi1,j ks we found Sundew, which in the Midlands; at any rate, is a rare plant. ¡ The Camp broke up after a ten days' holiday, this being the third time they have visited Penrhyn Point.
