I Locomonvs'IA 44 SPBEDINU.At Upton-on- Severn Petty Sessions on Thursday week, Tom Davis, an engine-driver, of Harts Farm, Red- marley, was summoned for driving a locomotive at a greater speed than four miles an hour, and pleaded guilty. P.C. Steadman saw defendant mear Pendock Cross driving very fast, and he had to cycle rapidly in order to overtake him. He estimated the speed at over 10 miles per hoar. Defendant disputed the speed, saying that his was a two-speed engine, and could not travel the pace. He had previous convictions for similar offences, and was fined JS2 and costs, 7s 6d. I
