Mills, painter and decorator, Railway terrace, Alltwwn, met with a rather serious accident last week-end, while oarying out a contract • at the Old Reading Room, Pontardawe. Mr Mills fell from the top of a ladder, a dis- taraoe of about 30 feet, breaking his cright ann and left anklc-. We hope he will have a speedy recovery. The funeral of the late Mrs. Alie.e Lowis, All-tvcl-taini road, who died last week at the age of 54, after a long and painful illness', took place on Saturday at St. Peter's churchyard. The Blue Boys' Concert. I All who know anything of the Glan- rhyd and Infirmary Hospitals at Pont- ardawe, will agree that the St. John AmbulUnee Association deserves every support, both moral and financial, for the excellent work it is doing for those who have braved so much for freedom and for all that Britain's homes oon- vey to mind. Nor do the soldiers them- selves lack appreciation for what is being done for them during convales- cence; and in order to help in the good work, and benefit those who may follow them, they have organised a concert party amongst themselves. On Saturday, March 9th they will appear at the Public Hall, Pontardawe and the following Monday evening at the Coliseum, Ystalyfera. Not only will the whole of the richly varied pro- gramme be carried out by the Boys in Blue, but also all the arrangements connected with the concerts will be managed by them. It will be their un- aided contribution to the. St. John Am- bulance Association. Already at Pont- ardawe the tickets are being offered for sale, and eagerly bought; and next week parties of the Blue Boys will visit Ystalyfera and Ystradgynlais, with the same object. They may be assured of a warm and substantial welcome.
