GERMAN FOOD RIOTS. FIRE-HOSE AND POLICE WEAPONS TO DISPEL CROWD. In the whole of Germany (according to- the French Official Wireless) manifesta- tions have taken place against the in- creased cost of food-stuffa. At Ludwigshafen the cavalry charged the demonstrators and there here several wounded. Similar manifestations at Munich were also of a violent character. Business is very difficult, and there are numerous cases of bankruptcy. The great Luitpold brewery has just handed in its balance-sheet to the official receiver. A letter addressed to a prisoner at the- La Palisse camp describes the disorgan- isation at Chemmitz.
