TO THE SUBSCRIBERS, AND HELPERS OF THE BRITISH RED CROSS 80CIJTY IN DENBIGHSHIRE. Ladies and Gentlemen, Wie are anxious that the full extent of the work of the British Red Cross Society in our County, which, with your kind as- sistance, we have been able to carry out since the outbreak of War, should be made known to you. We are, therefore, sending you this short summary of our work, which, we hope, may interest you, and with it we send our most sincere thanks for your whole-hearted co-operation both with sub- scriptions and personal effort. The number of Hospitals mobilized in the County was 7, and Patients admitted from December, 1914, when the first Hospital, was opened, to June, 1919, when the last w" as closed, total 4,464. Upon the demobilization of the Hospitals large Stores, including clothing, beds, blankets, general equipment, both chairs, dressings, etc., were given to the following Institutions in the County:- The Infirmaries of Denbigh and Wrexham; Th. Cottage Hospital at Colwyn Bay; The proposed Cottage Hospital at Chirk; Five District Nursing Association; The Serbian Relief Fund; The Civic Guild of Help; The Sanatoria of Denbighshire and The N. Wales Orthopaedic Hospital for Pensioners at Wrexham. The Our Day Collections in the County during the 4 years Qf War amount to £ 7301 Os. 3d., which sum was sent in in- stalments, as collected, to the B.R.C.S. Headquarters. The personnel of thl British Red Cross Detachments in Denbighshire increased from MS on the outbreak of War to 438, sortie of whom served overseas with distinc- tion. In conclusion, we should lijte to place on record our deep sense of gratitude to the many Doctors in the County who untiringly gave their svices for several years to our Auxiliary Hospitals. E.
