County Court held1 at Conway on the 17th ult., Mr D. M. Roberts, of Colwyn 'Bay, architect and surveyor, claimed rio from •Mr Edward Evans and! Mrs Evans, of Rhos. Plaintiff was represented by iMir Lowe (of Messrs Nunn and Co.), and defendants by Mj Portelr (of Messrs Porter, Amphlett and Jones). It transpired1 that the claim was for work done in conneduiicn with the case, of Rex v. Edward Evans, junr., in which plaintiff had appeared as a witness. Plaintiff alleged that he actedl on the- instructions- of defendants, whi'e they con- tended that he had to look TO- the 'bankrupt for his fees if h's charitable instincts did not induce him to ,give his services free of change. His Honour ultimately found for plaintiff in. the sum of £5 4S. IMPORTANT BRIDGE DESIGN.—Messrs Dodd' and Dodd, civil engineers., of Waterloo- street, .Birmingham, have- taken the prize in the competition for designs of a new bridge over the river Medway, at Ayie-sford, for the Kent County Council, to take Iche pliace,of the preiseinit bridge. Some dissension ensued as to the desirability of continuing the club, but eventually it was resolved: to continue, during the: season. Mr J. RHYL'S BOYS' BRIGADE.—The closing meeting of €119 Brigade for the season 1903-4 took place in. the BDigade' Hall on Tuesday even- ing, when about fifty, boys..s.at down to a supper, kindly provided by M.r M. Another boy, John Hughes,, seconded, and it was carried with acclamation, followed by cheers. Cheers were also given for the captain and the officers, and the pleasant proceedings concluded. Air and Mrs Robins, of Queen-street, were the caterers.

Welsh Farmers in Conference. AN important gathering of Welsh farmers was held! at Llangolleni on Tuesday, as a result of the lectures: on Agriculture delivered in January by C, Professor Tod, of .Bangor. Ini the cOourse of the lectures the failure of any Government to afford adequate help to the farmers was forcibly em- phasised, and Mr T. Lloyd Jones, who -was un-ani'mousily elected president of the newly- formed association., pointed out that there were many ways in which, by m'eeting together and discussing topics in whiich they were all as farmers interested, they might promote their common interests. After considerable discussion, it was decided thait :the association should be entitled! "'The Llangollen District Farmers' Association," and that its objects- should be 'to watch over and to dicuss: all makers affecting agricultua-al interests, and to take such action as may be üf'henlefit to the mfembers of It/he association and. agriculture in1 general. •Mr T. J. Edwards (Penrallt) was appointed secretary, and Mr J. W. 'Roberts (Penlan) trea- surer.

The solo, "Hel shaill feed His flock," was taken by Airs Tayleur, of Rhyl, who invested it with a just, reverent, feeling. One: of the selections had been composed: by the late- Can on Dwen Jones, o'f iBodelwyddan. Airs Tayleur, at the conclusion of tlhe cantata, splendidly ren- dered Gounod's composition,, "There is a green hil'l far away." Portions of Scripture were re- cited by various: .scholars. COMPETITIVE MEETING.—A very success- ful competitive meeting was held on Thursday evening, at the C.M. Schoolroom, Gemeg-street, and it "sy befiieved it. was the third of these annual meetings which have been heldlby the St. Asaph, 3efin, and Waen Sunday Schools, and! the younger members, for whom, they are mostly in-' bended. The keenest interest has been exhi- bited' in. the competitions, and! the meeting this pear proved ,the most successful of all in this respect. The Rev.
