A Visit to Rhyl. Sequel to a Divorce Case. IN the Divorce Court yesterday, before Mr Justice Barnes, the case of Thren v. Thren was heard on the petition of Andrew Thren, a waiter employed at Grasmere Hotel, for the dissolution of ^is mar- raige on the grounds of the adultery of his wife with some person or persons unknown. There was no defence. Mr Pridham Whipple, for the petitioner, said the parties were married in October, 1898, at the Registry Office, Liverpool, and there was one child of the marriage. After the marriage they lived at various places, and finally at Lincoln, During the summer months the pefitioner was at Grasmere but he frequently visited his wife at Lincoln, and stayed with her altogether during the winter. In August, 1900, the petitioner received an anonymous letter, which put him upon inquiries. He then discovered that his wife had contracted drunken habits, and had made undesirable ac- quaintances. He further found that she had pawned a large quantity of the household furniture. He spoke to her about her conduct, and she promised to behave better. She did not, however, reform, and there was a separation, the petitioner allowing his wife 10s a week, and 3s 6d for the mainrenance of the child. In 1901 the respondent went away to Rhyl, and whilst living there in West-street, she continued her drunken habits, and was visited by men. The petitioner having been called, a police con- stable stationed at Rhyl said he had seen the respondent in the company of men and women of bad character. His Lordship granted a decree nisi, with the custody of the child of the marriage.
