Prestatyn. THE POST OFFICE.—It is stated that the new building which is being erected for Mr J. T. Bumows, in High-street, will comprise amp.le accommodation for the new posit office premises. MJR R,. i) AY IKS AND THE COUNCIL.— We are informed: that Mr R. Dawes, who ;s a guardian of the poor, and has held the position of chairman of the Urban District Council, is about to leave the district for Chester, where for many yEars, he 'carried on an exiiensive grocery establishment. Mr Davies has for some years, ,snnoe his residence in Prestatyn, always evinced considerable concern in the welfare of the dis- trict, and many residents wil regret to lose serviices as a public man. THENElWFOOiTB'ALL -CLUB.—A general meeting of the .newly-formed football! club was held last night- at the Victoria Hall, under the presidency of M'r W. Bulcoek, J.P. There was a good, muster of persons interested in the club. Mr G. E. Roberts presented a rep;ort dealing wÜhrhe work necessitated in the formation of the club. There had be-en a dub for some years, but owing to a lack of furidls it was un- able to, cantiniue this season. There was, how- ever, a strong feeiing that if sufficient funds were forthcoming they 'Would', he abil-e to. form a ollub on a sound basis, and one. which would be a credit to the town. With 'that object in view a successful concert had been held, result- ing in a sum of 12s 6d as a 'balance' after all expense.s had been, pai-d.. It was intended to apply for membership of The Chester a:nd Dis- trict League. Subscriptions towards the funds of the dub had bc-,en, promised' by the president, and Mr T. B. Griffith, and Dr. Batrlen Wil- liams. With these it was, hoped the club would have in hand. £10, with which, to proceed to further arrangements. Judging by tche, support al,r,eadv,.accor-de,d the project, there would be no difficulty in- running a good' team successfully, and' which would' act as an, advertisement for the cown. (Hear, hear.) 'Mr T. B. Gniffith was elected chairman of the club, Mr A. Greenwood vice-chairman, Mr J. P. Linnell hon.. secretary, Mr Joseph Parry assistant hon. secretary, and Mr G. T. Linnell honi. treasurer. The follow,- ing were elected to serve on the committee:—• Messrs O. Proffit, D. T. Dawson, J. O. Connor, J. Hughes', H. Lewis, T. Jones, F. S. Jennings, E. Crump, E. Morgan, E. Newton, 13. SAD DEATH OF A \YO.\L\ -Mr F. Llew- elyn Jones, coroner, held an inquest -on, Friday ait the Town- Hall, "touching the death of Martha Jones (25), wife .of Cornelius Jones, plasterer, residing .at I, Gronantistreet. The proceed- ings had been adjourned from the previous day to permit a poBicmortem. examination. Cornel- ius Jones said he last saw his wife alive shortly after eleven o'clock on Wednesday morning, in the house. She was -subject to fits, but did not complain of feeling unwell that morning. Mrs Mary Holbrook, of 5, Sussex-lane, deposed to calling at the house about twelve- o'clock, and finding deceased lying on the floor, dead. Dr. S-ummeT'hil'l gave it a-s- his opinlion that deceased hadl died from suffocation, whilst in a fit. He wasi satisfied' from ail the,- appearances that death was due to natural causes. In answer to a juror, the doctor said there) was mot the slightest -sign;s of alcohol. A verdict of "natural causes" wa's returned, and the fore- man, of the, jury '.said, a statement had appeared in a local contemporary that the deceased', had beeft seen. under the influence of drink. The (e v., idence did. not juslifYSiuch a statement, and the jury were of opinion that .such statements should not be published.

St. Asaph. CONSTITUTIONAL CLUB.—We are in- formed that the billiard players of this club are arranging to take part in the Flintshire Billiard League matches, and that a team will play Flint Conservatives at Flint, on the 16th inst. The ■return match will be at Prestatyn on the 24th. A fixture 'w'n also probably take place with the St. Asaph Club. PARISH COUNCILLORS.—The usual parish meeting was held on Monday evening for the purpose of recewing the nominations, for parish councillors. Mr Miles Partington was voted to the chair i,:o conduct the proceedings. All the retiring members were .again .nominated! as fol- lows Dr. Davies, Dr. Lloyd, Dr. Easterby, a.nd Messrs Robert Jones (Probate Office), Walter Williams, John Charles Jones, John Lothian, H. A. Cleaver, John Simon, and! Peter Jones (Liverpool House). Mr Charlies Alansbridge was. re-elected chairman. As only the required number of .nominations were, received the coun- cillors wer.e consequently re-elected.
