These pictures are becoming in- creasingly popular amongst all sections of the community. Mr Reynolds spares neither pains nor expense in studying the comfort and varied tastes of his patrons. Most of the dramatio po tures are remarkably interesting and well acted and produced. Some have a strong moral bias- noticeably a recent production entitled "The Way of the World," in which a young priest, down- cast at the lack of support accorded the Church, goes forth into the world disguised as a labour ing man to save aianera, But after many rebuffm and apparent non-succese he returns broken- hearted to the Father Priest saying, "They re- ceived me not." But the arrival of one repen- tant sinner, an unfortunate girl whom he had befriended, caused him to rejoice. The travel and topical pictures are highly in- teresting, whilst an occasional fairy play gives delightful variety to the programme. The laugh- able subjects, of which there are many, cause roars of merriment.* Some of the American dra- matic pictures take place amidst scenery of sur- passing beauty and grandeur. An additional charm is given to the pictures by the carefully selected and tastefully played accompaniments on the Erard grand piano by Mr Morris Davies, the musical director, who is an accomplished pianist.
