Frere was to have taken place to-day (Thursday) week, but was not. until the following evening, on aoooumti of the wretched weather prevailing on Thursday. Fortunately, the conditions were more favourable on Friday evening, and the Arcadia was packed with an expectant audiencc. The troupe put forth of their bast for the occa- sion, sund the programme was undoubtedly the beut presented by the. Pierrots this season. The fea-turo of the programme was the charm- ing musioal scena "Arabia,,v specially written and composed for the occasion by Mr Frere. The inimitable "Syd." who was att-ired in Arabian ooetume, gave the piece a delightful m- terpretation, and from begtl-nning to end the I "turn" proved jet again his uncommon versa- tility and his remarkable artistic insight. The performainoe was vociferously applauded, and Mr Frere followed with "Shirts," and "Vanity Fai-r," two songs which he sings with fine effect. During an interval Mr Pryce-Davis, the business manager, on behalf of some of the in- numerable friends of Mr Frere, presented the popular manager-artiste with a beautiful little. miniature wheelbarrow, which had been prettily decorated with flowers, aJd with fruit and chocolate boxes. b, acknowledging this mark of appreciation, Mr F re-re said lie was very much affected by the generosity of his patrons. Harry Reynolds, the veteran entertainer, has been associated with the merriest side of life in Colwyn Bay for nine years, and, as he modestly s,.ig,,(?sted in a charact,,ristic little ,?peecii to li- I Is patrons at the "benefit" concert on Tuesday evening, there is no evidence that he has out- sta:d his wolcoiiie. Tuesday's uttendauce was excellent, notwithstanding the wretched weather prevailing, and the entertainment was equal to the best which even the veteran Harry has ever organised. Mr Reynolds is to be spreially com- plimented upon the effective stage decoration. In the first part of the programme his company were attired to represent "Great Britain and her "II -t -of-war appro- Colonies Nv*tli tli(? deck of priately enough as their theatre. Jack Hastings appeared as Wales, and sang "Gwcnny from Abergavenny" with considerable ability. Scot- land was impersonated by Fred Fulton; India by Walter Gordon; Africa by Gilbert Edwards; England by Eric Dean Canada by Harry Rey- nolds; Australia by Charlie Warham, and Ireland by the ever amusing Ally Benson. They sang appropriate songs, and in nearly every instance responded to insistent encores. Reynolds him- self rendered "Good-bye, Mother" with all his old humour and skill, responding to a vociferous j demand for more with "The night of the party. The first part concluded wi h a descriptive musi- cal sketch, "Motherland," in which the company made excellent use of their opportunities. After 'tal I a capIiisplty of p'c*ktres tti-, co?-n- pany performed "The Babes in the Wood," a burlesque pantomime of a very amusing kind. Ally Benson as Dame Trot was exceedingly clever. During the interval Mr Reynolds grate- fully acknowledged the generous patronage ex- tended to him by the public, and the industrious efforts of the "boys" throughout the season.

PROPERTY SALES. On Monday afternoon, at the Queen's Hotel, Mr R. Arthur Jones, auctioneer, Conway, offered for sale the freehold seaside residence know.a a-s Br-,?n DeriN-en, st:an<l:n,- In its <)wn groundz; of a?out an t?r-re. Th,-re was a very g was for many ,,ood pyt?,-)ert3 years the residence of Dr. Clifton Hughes, but was subsequently purchased by the present owner, Mr T. it. Fleming, of Chester. The houoa is most pleasantly situated and commands excellent views. It was announced by the auctioneer that the property was being sold owing to the fact that Mr Fleming had been medically advised to winter i.a future on the Continent. Mr Arthur Jones emphasised the fact that the perfect climate, modern sanitation, and beautiful scenery had long since combined to place Llanfairfechan amongst the leading seaside health resorts in that part of the North Wales Coast. After dwelling upon the general impiovemcat of the property marked as evi- denced by the recent sale by auction in neigh- bouring towns, he observed that the selling of Bry.aderwen offered an uniquo opportunity to those seeking a sound investment on a seaside h,Du. t ."4-,iv?an nL'gli,, 'Le T?roLid of. so The bidding commenced at and slowly rose to £ 575, at which price tie property was withdrawn, the auctioneer observing that this I&t was a little more than a third of what the owner had paid for it. 11e, however, explained that he would' be pleaded to treat for the sale of the place privately at a moderate figure, and it is understood the sale is likely to be effected.
