A* scene was witnessed at a meeting of the Glan Conway Parish Council held 011 Friday eve- ning, o\er wli:ch Mr 11. Rogera Jones (chair- manJ presided. Mr Maick, a member of _the (jouncd, accused tiie Chairman of tipping' refuse into a lake adjoining the railway and known as LIyn Mawr. Mr Malek informed the Council that he had seen a with a wheei barrow_ tip- ping refuse into the lake. The refuse consisted of garden weeds, vegetable matter, broken glasses, old lamps, bones, etc. He further stated that he had traced the wheelbarrow from the lake to Rhianva, the residence of Mr Rogers Jones. Mr John Roberts: This is nothing moec or lc;S than a personal attack on our Chairman. The Chairman informed Mr Malek that, to be in order, he should make a proposition. Mr Malek then moved, a proposition to the effect that Mr Rogers Jones bo requested to discontinue depositing refuse in the lake- The Chairman (after a pause 01 some dura- tion) paid1 that as there was no seconder the proposition failed. He invited the members to visit the lake and decide for them- selves whether there was anything objection- a.ble. The members subsequently visited the lake, and the matter was allowed to drop.

DOLWYDDELEN PARISH COUNCIL. Mr O. E. Parry presided at a meeting of tliis Council on Friday. There were also present: Messrs T. McGill, W. Evans W. P. I-lughe,3, Rees Jones, D. Daviee, W. Edwards, and E. J. Da vies, together with the Clerk (Mr R: P. Hughes). Messrs E. J. Da-vies and T. McGill submitted a. report in which was embodied1 suggestions as to several public improvements. Messrs W. P. Hughes aind 0 E. Parry re- ported that the public lamps were in good con- dition, but suggested! that additional lamps should be placed a.t Castle-terrace and Pentre- felin- The matter was referred' to the Lighting Committee. Mr W. P. Hughes, drew attention to the con- dition of the upper entrance to Hc-ndi-e Bridge, contending that the parish would be held liable in case a, accident occurred at the spct.-On the motion of Mr W. Evans, seconded by Mr E. J. Davies, it was decided to leave the place as it is at uresent. Mar T. McGiJl drew attention to the road lead- ing to Pontypant by Brynmwllach, one ditch having been opened while the other had not been touched. He failed to see why both ditches had not been opened.—Mr W. P. Hughes de- oliared that road in several parts was in a bad condition—Mr W. Evans contended that the roads in the district compared favourably with those in other districtsi—On the motion of Mr W. Eidwardis, seconded by Mr W. P. Hughe-, it was decided to draw the attention of the Sur- veyor to the road leading from Pontypant to the village.
DYSERTH.
DYSERTH. ACCIDENT TO A CWM FARMER. On Saturday evening, whilst Mr Owen, of Tcrfyn Farm, Cwrn, was riding home from Rhyl through Dvserth, his horse was frightened by a passing motor cycle. Mf Owen was thrown to the ground, and the horse dashed away towards home. In Dyscrth P.C. Owen noticed the ani- mal, and whilst some men took steps to stop it, the constable went along the road to ascertain what had happened to Mr Owen, whom he found suffering from injuries to his face and head. The officer attended to his injuries, and after- wards conveyed him to his residence. Mr Owen who was badly knocked about, is recovering.

OLD COLWYN, BENEFIT CONCERT.—^Lesterday (Wednes- day) evening, at the Assembly Room, a concert was held for the united benefit of Mr Sam Roberts and Mrs Abigail Williams, who have both been in ill-health for a considerable time. The Vicar (Rev. J. Griffiths) presided, and an interesting programme was presented. A BLIND BOY.—At a meeting of the Colwyn Bay and District Education Authority, held yes- terday (Wednesday) afternoon, the welfare of Robert Roberts, aged twelve, the son of Mr Ro- bert Roberts, veterinary surgeon, Old Colwyn, was discussed. It was unanimously decided, on the motion of the Rev. Thomas Roberts, Llan- elian, seconded by Mr T. Hoskins, Old Colwyn, that the boy, who is slowly going blind, shall be sent to an institution for the blind either at Liverpool or Manchester, as the parents decide COLWYN AGRICULTURAL SHOW.—Agri- culturists and others may be reminded that the annual show promoted by the Old Colwyn and District Agricultural Society will be held in Minydon field on Wednesday, July 13th. Classes have been arrarilr ,ed this year for horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, poultry, pigeons, cage birds, butter, cheese, bacon, ham, eggs, honey, dressed poultry, flowers, plants, vegetables, etc., so that a very considerable step forward has been made in the programme as compared with last year. There will be also jumping and driving competitions, and a grand stand will be provided. Mr R. Martin Smith, Carlton, Penlwys-road, is the hon. secretary, and entry forms, etc., may be had from him on application.

Phillip Williams, of Elw-y was born at St- Asaph in 1834. Jury heard an action brought by Wm. Ro- berts, shepherd Aber, who claimed £ 12 from John Owen car proprietor. Bangor, in respect of the loss of a dog, which was, it was alleged, killed by the defendant's motor car. The jury awarded £ 5. Mr Thornton Jones, on behalf of the plaintiff, applied for a new trial, basing his application solely u.pon the question o'f damages, -the Jury on the issue 01 negligence, found for the plaintiff, and be asked tne Judge 10 say on the question of damages, there should be a new trial. He contended that the verdict of the jury so far as it lelated to the amount of damages, was against the welglit of evidence, and he pointed out that no evidence as to the value of the cog was called by the defendant* and the damages were so far below the- real amount as to indicate that the jury pr« upon the wrong principle. "If you spend your money as fast as you talk you won't bave much of it left," added his Honour, who saad it was not right should reocive such a sum without paying some of her creditors, and he made an order to that effect.
