THE WATERLOO BRIDGE.—In May last a. meeting of the representatives of the Carnar- vonshire and' County Councils was held with regard1 to the oomdition of the Water- loo Bridge. The County Surveyor of Carnar- vonshire roughly etstamaiiod the cost of a new stono bridge at about £ 5,000 and £ 3,0000 if of *<*ra Concrete. "TRIAL BY JURY." The Colwyn Bay Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society are re- hearsing tho above for production in tho autumn. To-day being the Halifax Tradesmen's holiday, Mr Cartmell will also cater for four large parties from that place. To these a party of over 200 school children from Coventry, together with the employees of Messrs Collins' File Works, Birkenhead, Messrs T. Cook and Sons, Manchester, are also conducting a party here, and Messrs Lazenby, tourist agents, have arranged with the same caterer to provido for the Birmingham Cathedral Choir Boys on the same day. Two other choirs, one from Pen- dleton and one from St- Helens, complete the day's programme. All this is further proof that Colwyn Bay is not lacking in public estimation as an ideal spot for a day's outing. A POPULAR CHAIRMAN.—Mr Robert Givxjnfiedd, of Belmont. Tywyn, Deganwv, has been unammously re-elected for tJJIeo third year in suooeesion to the chairmarkahip of the North Waiee Wodaeeday Football League. Mr Green- field, who is the managing steward of the Tyny- coed and Marl Convalescent Homes, is very popular in the district. He was vice-chairman, of the Llandudno May-Day Committee this year, and in the ordinary course will be chairman of next year's festivities.

EGLWYSBACH. SUNDAY SCHOOL TRIP.— To-day week, the various Sunday schoob in thig district went for their annual outing. Some eight Sunday schools joined to for tbo trip, and the day was observed as a gerseral holiday. Throughout the district Llandudno was the rendezvous, and the excursion iste wefle conveyed in a special tram which started from Talyoafn at eight oldook in the morning. Altlhough the weather weather was very unfavourable during the early morning about 300 persons braved the ele- ments, and. mustered at Talyoafn, a contingent from the upper part of the district, having joined the train ear bar at Llamrwat. All the arrangements were admirably carried out, nothing but the unfavonrable condition of the weather marring the full enjoyment of the holi- day. SCHOOL MANAGERS.— A meeting of the managers of the Eglwysbaoh N.P- Schools was held on Monday evening, the following being present: The Rev. H. L. Davies, B.D. (corres- pondent), Rev. T- Gwilym Roberts, Messrs J. Saunderson, Roger Hughes, H. Holland Roberts, J.P., apd Evan Jones, Rhiw. The report of the examiners was paesented a.nd read. The report on the general conditions of the school this year is very satisfactory, and the Headmaster and staff are to be complimented. The report caile attention to various defects in and around the school premises, which were considered by the -managers, and it was resolved to make good these defects during the summer holidays, which are to oomuienco on the 15th inst. SCHOLASTIC SUCCESS—Mr W. E. Wil- liams. the He-admaster of the N.P. School, has been successful in the examination of school teachers in cottage and allotment gardening. Out of 362 candidates Mr Williams is bracketed 24th on the list for first class honours, being the second Wedshman on the list.
