We understand that at held in the Chapter Room of this Cathedral on Tuesday, every difficulty regarding the repairs of our an- tient Cathedral was removed, and that we may now anticipate its speedy completion. Dr. Jenkinson, late Dean of Worcester, Was consecrated the Bishop of St. David, at Lam- beth Palace, in the ancient style, and with the customary formalities. In consequence of the j indisposition, we regret to state, of the Arch- bishop of Canterbury, the ceremony of installing Dr: Jenkinson was performed, by a grant of the Archbishop; by the Lord Bishop of London, in the presence of four other Bishops. Allison, Esq. a Naval Officer, for having, with his aged father, a cler- gyman, been present at a boxing match between Bridge and Perry, two countrymen, was convict- ed of a riot, and sentenced to pay a fine of i?20. while the two combatants were condemned to three months' hard labour in prison, if this decision be .re.cQgrtised as law, the practice of prize-fighting will soon be at an end.
