That much admired ancient structure the Castle of Crickieth presents itself in front with Cardi- gan Hay, and all vessels trading to the ports of Crickieth, Pwllheli. Barmouth, Traethmawr, &c. The picturesque mountains of the county of Merioneth, skirting Cardigan Bay, are a striking fea- ture in the scenery commanded from this justly admired situation. AT a numerous and respectable Meeting, held in the Shire Hall, in Ruthin, in the county of Dep-bigli, ori Friday the 27th day of August, 1813, pursuant to public notice Sir Watkin Williams Wynn,Bt. The following resolutions and regulations moved by JOHN WY NNE, Esq. and seconded by Jo TIN ILEATON, Esq. were unanimously adopted 1. That the object and constitution of the Bii- tish and Foreign Bible Society, have the cordial approbation of this Meeting. 2. That a Society be formed, to be called 1, The Auxiliary Bible Society, bf the county of Denbigh" for the purpose of co-operating with the British and Foreign Bible Society, in promoting the dis- tributioo of the Holy Scriptures, both at home and abroad. 3. That, conformably to the principles of the Parent Institution, the Bibles and Testaments to be circulated by this Society, shall be without note or comment, and those in the Uwgnageofthe united kingdom, of the authorized version only, 4. That all Persons subscribing one guinea per annum, or ten guineas at once, or upwards, shall be Members of this Society. 5. That the business of this Society shall be conducted by a President, Vice-Presidents, a Treasurer, two Secretaries, and a Committee, consisting of twenty-four lay Members, (to be appointed this year by the President, and a ma- jority of the Vice-Presidents) twelve of whom shall be members of the Church of England that five Members of this Committee constitute a quorum and that the said Committee be em- powered to fill up any vacancy that may occur during the year. 6. That every Clergyman or other Minister, who is a of this Society, shall be enti- tled,to attend and vote at the "Meetings of the Committee. 7. That the Committee shall meet quarterly, or oftener, on the first Monday in every quarterly month the firsr Meeting to take place on Mon- day, the 4th day of October next. 8. That the Committee divide this e.ounfy into districts, and appoint one or more of their Mem- bers for each district, who may associate with t hcmselves any active subscribers, for the pur- pose of soliciting subscriptions and donations and that they establish proper agents and corres- pondents in different parts, within the limits of this Auxiliary Society, 9. That the whole of the subscriptions and do- nations received by this Society, shall be annu- ally remitted,after deducting incidental expeusVs, to the Parent Institution, in consideration of the advantages held out to Auxiliary Societies, namely, that the Committee of such Societies shat; be entitled to receive gratuitously, (if their local necessities shall require it) a supply of Bi- bles and Testaments, estimated at prime co!(, to, the amount of half the entire sum remitted by them to the Parent Institution within the year and further, that the Members of Auxiliary So- cieties shall he entitled to the privilege of pur- chasing from the depositories of such Auxiliary Societies, Bibles and Testaments Oil the same conditions as the Members of the Parent Insti- tution." 10. Horses, &c. that run for the above Plates or Caps, to he entered at the George fnn. in Os- westry, on Saturday, September 25th, between the hours of twelve and four o'clock, paying two guineas entrance, and half a guinea to the clerk of the course, or double after that time, which double entrance must be paid to the Clerk of the course before eleven o'clock upon tlie day of run- ning and for the Sweepstakes to pay 5s. each at the time of of Qualifi- cations must he produced at the time of entei ing, and Teft with the Clerk of the Course, or will not be permitted to enter. No post entrance will be allowed for either of the Cups, but with the approbation of the Stew- ards, or whom they shall appoint. Each rider is desired to declare at the tirna of entering the Colour he will ride in, that thev may he inserted in the printed lists and any Jockey rid in in any other Colour than that he has so mentioned, shall forfeit 10s. 6d. to the Clerk of the Course, No less than three rephted running horses to start for either of the above Plates, without the permission of the Stewards if only one enters the owner to he allowed ten guinaes if two, fiv guineas each, and their entrance money returned. No person will he allowed to erect a hooth or stall to sell liquor on the Race Ground, but those who have subscribed one guinea, or to erect any stand for spectators, but with the approbation of tiie Stewards. No horse to be plated by a smith who doee not subscribe half-a-guinea. All disputes to be determined by the Stewards, or whom they shall appoint; and their determi- nation to be final. The Course is in fine order; and the Stewards particularly request that: no person either on foot or on horseback will he within the cords during the time of running and all dogs seen upon the course will be destroyed.
