I ISAAC HOPKINS, of Aberystwyth, in the 9 county of Cardigan, Shipwright, do hereby apologize to Mr Morgan Morris of Piercefield, Aber- ystwyth, Farmer, for having at the Aberystwyth Town Council, on Tuesday, the 6th day of February, 1906, accused him of having stolen water belonging to the Corporation. I find that I had no grounds whatever for making such a serious and slanderous statement, which statement is absolutely without founda- tion and I now beg to apologise for the pain and annoyance caused by me to him in consequence and to retract the same and in consideration of the said Morgan Morris abstaining from proceeding with the action for slander which be has already commenced I hereby undertake to pay for the insertion of this apology in the next issnes of the following newspapers:- •' The Western Mail," the Welsh Gazette," "Aber- ystwyth Observer," and the "Cambrian News"; and also to pay to Mr. W. P. Owen, his Solicitor, all the costs of the action and I further undertake on the signing hereof to pay over to Mr. W. P. Owen the sum of B5 5s which is to be paid over to the Aberystwyth Infirmery at the request of the said Morgan Morris and I also undertake from the date hereof to refrain from' speaking or uttering the said slanderous words.
