A CITY OF SALT.
A CITY OF SALT. One of the most remarkable cities in the worl-L! Eclburg, near Cracow, Poland, for, besides being situated underground, it is excavated entirely i, rock salt. The inhabitants, to the number of ove. 3,000, are, of course, workers in the famous salt mines, and all the streets and houses are of tha purest white imaginabte. One of the most famous features of the city is the cathcdraf, carved in saV &nd lighted with electric lights, and when the lat Gzar Alexander visited it, eleven years ago he waa so fascinated with the magnificent t.:Œct. of the light upon the crystal vails that he presented tbs cathedrxt with a jewehcd altar cross. Such a thint as infectious disease is unknown in Kelberg in fack the majority of the inhabitaats die of old age.
