ELECTION ADDRESS. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE COUNTY OF MONTGOMERY. GENTLEMEN,—The result of the Polling in Montgomeryshire and Orders for the Squad- ron to advance arrived together on Monday, the 15th, and a halt here for 12 hours has given me the first opportunity of expressing my most sincere thanks to all those who have so kindly supported me with their votes, time and energy. Unless there are minor issues of which I am at present ignorant, I presume, the result of the polling is the expressed opinion of the majority of the Electors on the great question of the War and yn day by day we see and hear first hand from the Kaffirs them. selves of the physical cruelties that are still being practised on them by the Boers, while from Boer prisoners and those left on the farms, come the bitterest complaints of the still greater cruelty of enforced ignorance of facts impressed upon them by their leaders, ignorance of events that have occurred, of proclamations touching their closest interests, and even of the deaths of husbands and sons systematically maintained, solely to prevent the formation of expression of individual opinion, to say nothing of debts paid by valueless notes, while public money is freely misappropriated, it seems strange that Welshmen, whose love of know. ledge and education, with perfect liberty of action, is their pride and boast at home, can countenance the exact reverse out here. To my political friends and supporters, I once more tender my warmest gratitude for their unwearying labours throughout my Candidature, and to my opponents for the courtesy and good-will I have ever experienced at their hands. I trust that the sacrifices made by all alike in the War will be the means of extending to others the benefits we have so long enjoyed at home. I have the honour to be, Yours very faithfully, Prendars River, R. W. WILLIAMS-WYNN.
