Births, Marriages Deaths. IN MEMORIAM. MA YBERY. In proud and loving memory my dearly loved son, Captain Richard Aveline Maybery, M.C. with bar, 21st Lancers att. 5Sth Squadron Royal Flying Corps, killed iu aerial action over Bourlon Wood, Dec. 19th, 1917, aged 22. F LEWIS.—In loving remembrance of our dear Annie May Lewis, who died December 21st, 1918. Remembrance sweet so sad to recall, She was loved by us and respect od by all. From Mam and Dad, Fred, Sid und Gert, 10, Newmarch Street, Brecon. PRICE.—In ever loving memory of our dear daughter, Elsie Mary, who died at Mardy Hospital, Dec. 20th, 1917. Sadly missed by her loving Mother and Father, Sister and Brothers. We often sit and think of her When we are all alone, For memory is the only friend That grief can call its own. Like the ivy on the withered oak, When other things decay, Our love for her will still keep green, And never fade away. I

Rural Workers' Union.—An organising meeting was held at the Schoolroom on Monday, the 8th inst., when Mr S Box, of King's Thorne. near Hereford, gave an address on behalf of the Rural Workers' Union. Mr Box, who is the local Union organiser, pointed out that unorganised the workers had no control over their working conditions, that the present rates of wages could uot-have been obtained without the Unions, that the security of their conditions lay solely in the strength of the trade unions, and that the districts where the best wages and best conditions obtained were those where the workers were best organised.
