I 5/5/0 to 9/9 0. THE DEE JAY TAILORING SYSTEM takes up tailoring 'where the ordinary method leaves off; it is not an experiment or unsound 7 t idea, but a system that takes your measurements to the smallest fraction of an inch, a system that cuts down the cost of tailoring by preventing all possible misfits and alterations. The Dee Jay System does not merely fashion and build up a cloth it allows-for, and adapts v the elasticity of the fabric to keep the garment in shape. It is new in principle from beginning to end. None of the ordinary, haphazard methods are embodied in this wonderful system which is FOUNDED ON SCIENTIFIC PRINCIPLES THAT 20,000 MEN HAVE PROVED FAULTLESS IN THE PAST 3 YEARS. If the hands are short, with stubby fingers, the nails should be rather long and pointed. Rings should- be worn on only one finger. If you have them on several fingers you simply cut your hands in two, a writer in the Girl's Own Papev says. A long sleeve will alter the apparent length of your hand, because it allows the imagination to determine where the, wrist begins. If the sleeve comes down over the haiidi in a point, that also helps to make it look longer. If you are wearing an evening gown with no sleeves and, want to put on a bracelet, don't have it too close to the hand, bot higher up the arm. If you already bave very long, slender fingers, the nails should be well-shaped, but they must not be long or the fingers will look like claw6. A CHBOK SUIT FOR SCOTLAND. Sketched here we have a check suit of heavy homespun for wear on autumn visits to the North. The coat is quite plain, and is long and on the new lines. It is trimmed with cloth of a contrasting shade. L PATTERN No. 2,484. This last, however, is quite Nn optional arrangement, for the costume is suffi- ciently chic without any additions. The slanting breast pocket is a pretty touch; and the pookete on the skirt-part of the coat are useful as well as ornamental. SWKBT SIMPLICIT*. The thing in little Paris frocks is sweet simplicity, and simple satin frocks are very popular, the Woman, at Home savs. They have short sleeves because they are often worn for afternoon dancing, and they are usually made with aprons or draped skirte. v The most chic embodiment is that best described as the petal variety. Petal frocks are pretty in delicate fabrics, but I *hink they are most attractive in heavier materials—satin or taffetas is the best. Or why not have a simple little gown trimmed with the adorable silk ftowers which are so much in vogue with Parisienneet A slender rope of tiny roses made of the material of the frock. The ros^p ea-n be of satin, ninon, or taffetas— there's no foliage, and these little flowers border the necks of bodices and even the hems of skirts. I AN AFTERNOON FROCK. The pretty afternoon frock illustrated is made of charmeuse, with a draped frdnt to the corsage of georgette. The wide sash is a new and smart feature. The bodice part is extremely jil-ain, and on Magyar t PATTBR;N No. 2,485. lines, the sleeves barely reaching to the elbow. It is loose in build, and the ful- ness is caught in by the unusually wide eoft sash. The neck is cut low, and the dainty collar is made of the georgette. TO-DAY'S RECIPE. D. WILLIAMS, Member of the British Antique Dealers' Association, Old Curiosity Shop, CARMARTHEN. IT IS DIFFERENT —quite different—after taking a few doses of Beecham's Pills. The low- spirited condition caused by derange- ment of the digestive organs gives place t( a welcome sensation of brightness and better tone; the depression which accompanies many forms of dyspeptic trouble is banished, and a feeling of cheerfulness comes in its stead. In fact, people who take Beecham's Pills generally find their spirits improved and their interest in life stimulated AFTER USING this remarkably efficacious medicine, Beecham's Pills make all the differ- ence The reason of this pleasant change is perfectly clear. Beeehams' Pills have been specially prepared to act upon the important organs which govern the function of digestion, and which, when out of order, are the cause of so much discomfort and so many ail- ments. That Beecham's Pills do what they were designed to do, and do it admirably, is abundantly proved by their enormous sale and changeless popularity. It is weJl to remember, ther6f6t6, that dyspeptid depression disappears, and the outlook grows brighter after taking Beecham's Pills Sold everywhere in boxes, labeled Is 3d and 3s Od.
