MEAT RATIONING ORDER, 1918 Further Increase in the Value of the Meat Coupon. 0 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, as from the 19th May instant and until further notice, 8d. worth of uncooked Meat may be purchased in respect of each of the two coupons pere¡m available for butcher's meat. CATERERS. Catering Establishments will also be per- mitted to account for butcher's meat purchased by them at the rate of 8 ozs. per coupon surrendered instead of 6 ozs. INSTITUTIONS. And Institutions working on the ordinary civilian meat scale are authorised, in view of the rise in the value of 'the meat coupon, to buy until further notice up to 16 ozs. of butcher's meat per head per week without reducing their permitted allowance of other meats. And further that Catering Establishments may, as from May 19th and until further notioe, buy in the form of butcher's meat a weekly quantity equal either to one half of their weekly supply of meat when reckoned by the new coupon values, or to one half of the amount of butcher's meat sold by the establish- ments in the fortnight ended 4th May, whichever is the greater.' Heins & Co. BRECONSHIRE WAR AGRICULTURAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE. School-Boy Labour. THE ExecutiVe Committee have made 1 arrangements for the services of 100 public and secondary school boys, under the supervision of their Masters, to be utilised for harvest work in the County during the months of August and September. Batches of 20 boys will be allocated to the following districts :—Brecon, Builth, Crick- howell, Sennybridge and Talgarth. Any farmer requiring the services of these boys should make application to the Secretary of tke District Committee in each case. BUILTH WELLS COUNTY SCHOOL. Scholarship Examination for Boss and Girls. AJf EXAMINATION will be held at the BUILTH WELLS COUNTY SCHOOL on SATURDAY, JULY 13th, 1918, at 10 a.m., for the award of Free Places and County Scholarships. The Governors will award such a number of Free Places and Scholarships, as they may kereafter determine, to those children who- 1. Are resident in the School District. 2. Have, for not less than two years immediately preceding the award, been Scholars in any Public Elementary- School. 3. Have not attained thirteen years of age on June 30th, 1918. SCHOLARSHIP AUGMENTATION AND MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES FOR BOYS AND GIRLS. The Governors may, if they have sufficient funds for the purpose, augment the value of the County Scholarships. They may also award Maintenance Allow- ances to those applicants who, in the opinion of the Governors, shall, from their pecuniary circumstances, be most in need of them, and not on the result of an examination. The Maintenance Allowances will consist of such an amount sufficient to cover the estimated expenses of travelling to and from School, and of Books and Stationery, and other incidental expenses, together with a contribution to the lodging expenses of scholars from the Public Elementary Schools in the district.
