TO THE INDEPENDENT F, L E C T 0 R OF THE BOROUGH OF BRECON AND TOWN OF LLYWEL. GENTLEMEN —A Vacancy having un- expectedly occurred in the representaiion of your Borough, through the much lamented decease of the late Marquess Camden and the consequent elevation of your Representative to the House of Peers, I beg to announce myself as a Candidate for your Suffrages My.. political principles having been recently laid before you, it is unnecessary for me now to enter into them at any length, but with reference to the impor- tant question of Parliamentary Re'orm, I ihall be prepared to vote for a £6 rating Borough Franchise. As I stated on a former occasion I am desirous of meeting the conscientious objections of those who differ from the Established Church by th" adoption of any measure which may relieve them from the pay- ment of Church Rates. I place full reliance on the Ministry of Lord Derby as capable of conducting the affairs of this great Country with honor and success, and in the event of my being elected your Representative, you may l'ely on my be-t endeavours to promote the well-beitig and prosperity of your ancient Borough. I have the hunor to remain, Gentlemen, Your Faithful Servant, HOWEL GWYN. BrecoD, August 15th, 1866. [135. TO THE INDEPENDENT ELECTORS OF THE BOROUGH OF BRECON, AND .n TOWN OF LLYWEL. t'l ENTLEA.IEN,-HqViDg jUSt completed a very careful and successful canvass, it now becomes my pleasurable duty to tender you my heart- felt thanks, for the warm and flattering reception which you have so generally and unequivocally ac- corded me; and in doing so, I cannot omit referring to the kindness I have received, even from those who differ with me. Should I enjoy the great honor of becoming your representative in Parliament (and of this I have now no doubt whatever), I shall feel it my duty at all times to further every mea,ure which has for its object the benefit and prosperity of my constituents. I regret, in consequence of a slight indisposition, that I am most reluctantly compelled to leave for a short time, but fully intend returning among you in a few days. I have tbe honor to remain, Gentlemen, Your faitbfullmiJ obliged servant, HOWEL GWYN. Brecon, August 22nd, 1866. [149 TO THE E L E C T 0 R S OF THE BOROUGH OF BRECKNOCK, AND TOWN OF LLYWEL. GENTLEMEN, —I have completed a most satisfdctory and encouraging canvass; the result has exceeded my most sanguine expecta- tions, and leaves no doubt whatever of my ultimate success. To the Electors who have promised me their votes and support I have to tender my cordial and hearty thanks. It only remains now for the Liberal party in the Borough to stIJd true to their principles, and to unite together to return me as their representative in the House of Commons by a triumphant majority. I have already pledged myself to support the prin- ciples of Constitutional Reform and Progress—so necessary for the good of the country. Let me remind you it is due to Mr. Gladstone, and the Liberal party in the House of Commons, that taxation has been reduced, that employment has been given to the masses by the increased industry of the country arising from commercial treaties with foreign countries,—while the repeal of the Paper Duty has enabled the people to benefit by a cheap and whole- some literature. It is to assist in effecting further Reform in a similar direction that I now seek to enter Parliament as, your representative. t I am, Gentlemen, Yours faithlilllyl ALFRED H. CHURCHILL. These Pills are compounded from the recipe of one of the most eminent physicians of the present day (who, from purely philanthropic motives—knowing their excellent properties from experience—has been induced to give the benefit of them to the public at large). They are prepared by an able and experienced chemist, and are acknowledged, by the faculty, t,) be the most valuable medicine for all (iisorders of the stomach and derangements of the liver ever prepared. It is a well-known fact that most of the diseases incident to the human race arise from a disordered stomach, ai d an irr. ^ular state of the bowels, and for want of a suitable remedy, taken in time, thousands of (at first) simple maladies become serious illnesses. To guard against this great evil, and to preserve the bles- sings of health, these pills are confidently and earnestly recommended. Thi-y act generally on the constitution, cleanse the blood of all impurities; regulate the secretions, and give tone to the stomach; correct the morbid condition of the liver, regulate the howel", and, by removing all imp. diments, restore elasticity and vigour to the whole frame. Sold in boxes (with directions for use) Is. 1 id. and n d. each (a saving by taking the larger size). Sold Wholesale by Messrs. B .relay and Son, London, and Retail by all Medicine Vendors.
