RUTHIN. BALL.—The tenants' ball at the Castle was given on Thursday evening, by Major West, the Lord-Lieutenant ot the county. We should have given a full report of the proceedings in the Guardian to-day, had not the oversight occurred of omitting to send an invitation to our reporter. CHURCH DECORATIONS.—The parish church was very neatly decorated this year with very appropriate devices and evergreens. The church being so large, it must- have taken the ladies some time and labour to have completed their onerous task. The credit is entirely due to Mrs Buckley Jones. Miss Edwards, Plaseoch, and the Misses Jone-Pyrocanth House. ACCIDENT.—The slippery state of the streets during the Christmas week was a source of considerable danger to pedestrians. On Thursday, Mr Williams, brother to Mr Robert Wiliams, Llanfwrog, was passing along the street when he slipped down, broke his leg, and otherwise injured himself. He was conveyed home, placed under medical treatment, and is now in a fair way of re- covery. LLANRHYDD SUNÐAY SCHOOL SHOB FUND. Amongst the other clubs for clothing which are instituted in the town and neighbourhood, this proves very satisfactory and benefi illl to its members. Out of an average at- tendance of 150 children, 110 are members of this club. The total contribution for the year amounted to £.5 to which sum £7 5s (kinoly collected by Miss Edwards, Piasccch, and Miss Jones, Pyrocanth House) was added, which enabled the Rev. R. Owen to distribute a bonus of Is 6d to each child. CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS.—At Ruthin, Christmas celebrated in rather a quiet manner. Out-door amuse- ments, if we except skating, were nil. There was, how- ever, much joy amongst the various sections of the townspeople. The tradesmen suspended business from Thursday evening until Monday morning, and thus their assistants were enabled to spend the time with the old folks at home." A good deal of charity was shown to poor by their richer neighbours. The prisoneJmSFt&Jnpntioned in also had their customary dinner of roast beef and plum pudding. PETTY SESSIONS. MONDAY.—Before the Rev the Warden of Buthin, James Goodrich, Esq., J. F. Jesse, Esq., Colonel Jone9, and Lieut.-Col. Naylor Leyland. THE DRUNKARDS' LIST.—Reece Jones, of Ruthin, was charged by Police-constable Rowlands with being drunk and disorderly in the public streets at Ruthin. As this was not the first time he had troubled the police, de- fendant was fined £2 and costs.—David Jones was charged by Police-constable Rowlands with being drunk aud incapable of taking care of the horse and cart of which he was the driver. The defendant was found in such condition by the officer iu the streets at Ruthin. Fined 10s 6d and costs.—Edward Evans, the elder, and Edward Evans, the younger, were fined 10s and costs f jt being drunk and disorderly, on the information of Police constable James Lloyd. POACHING.—Edward Jones and John Jones were charged by Edward Griffiths with trespa^Lg in search of conies. They were fined 10s and cosL. MALICIOUS INJURY.—Charles Roberts bel oven sum- moned for damage to a cart, the property of Robert Roberts, but as defendant did not appear, a warrant was issued for his apprehension.
