THE EHYL VIC'S AT DINNER. A HAPPY FUNCTION. The annual dinner of the Rhyl Vic's Football Club took place at the Lome Hotel on Monday evening- Tho proceedings, which were more or lct; of a celebration on the club having won both the North Wales Junior Cup and the North Wales League Cup. were preceded by the ceremony of photographing the players, by Mr Wills There was a numerous company at dinner. The chairman wan Councillor Ll. II. Evans, the vice-president, and Councillor 11. A. Til by occupied the vice-chair. A capital repast having been enjoyed, the Chairman said he- had received a large number of letters regretting unavoidable absence. Mr W. J. P. Storey, in a letter from London, said he heartily congratulate^ the club on having won two out of the three eupes for which they competed lie war, sorry the third cup did not come to Rbyl. but that wouLd be something for the club to strive for next season. liast year thev won one. this year two, and next year it must be three. He advised them to shoot more readily whenever th-cy got within range of the goal. Air Lloyd then presented the Junior lieaguo Cup to the club. He added that he did not think there WM another club tha.t oould havo taken the cup from them. They fully deserved both cups. In his opinion they should be in the first league. Mr LI. B. CONWAY v. HOLYHEAD RESERVES ONM SIDED GAME ON THE MOIU-'A. A 7-1 nUTORY. The long-anticipated return League lixturc between Conway and Holyhead was played on the ground of the former last Saturday. Cup- tie engagements had, on three or four occasions, precluded the fulfilments of promises on the part of the Islanders, and the match had been all but abandoned. The circumstances under which it was now played were anything but L6 factory. Holyhead had two League tti,(,etingc to account for on the same day. At hon?,o. the-; turned Out an eleven to do battle against Col- W\ï1 Bay whilst another team had to be provided for the journey to Conway. This was un- fortunate from more than one point of view. In the tirist place the original side had perforce to be disorganised. This division of forces necessarily weakened the attack in both eases, and when it became known that the complete tram which had so severely defeated the :'Blues" at Holyhead, a few weeks ago, would not turn out for the return game there was keen dis- appointment at" Conway. The homesters had piusued a vigorous period of training, and their ranks had been strengthened with the sole object of avenging the result. The home supporters were, if anything, "till mere dis- appointed for they hopefully looked forward 10 seeing at least a sterling game. That there were only two or three of the original Holyhead eide in Saturday's eleven was therefore a bouroe of general diis^atisfaction.
