Telegraph office opens from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday from 8 to 10 a.m. Mrs Watkins, posthi st, ess, THE BEACH.—The stretch of over four miles of firm sands is unrivalled on the Welsh coast, landwards it is edged by the ridge ,)f pebbles and greensward alongside of which for some distance lie the excellently-arranged and well-k p1, golf links of eighteen holes which attract so many players. Fishermen return year after year, some choosing to sport with the bass from the rocks at Birth Point, others try their skill with the Dovey salmon, while others less ambitious are content to gain the courteous permission of Sir Pryse-Pryse, Bart., and fish the modest Lerry for trout. THE BATHING.—One of Borth's greatest attractions is its safe and pleasaut bathing. Many families prefer using their own little tents, but machines can be hired. CLIMATE. The late Dr Thring, headmaster of Uppingham School, wrote:—" I lived at Borth a whole year with my School from March, 1876, and have visited it summer after summer with my family since. I consider the climate of Borth the best I have ever known, fresh in summer and mild in winter, Without being relaxing, and the place in all respects delightful to lovers of sea and country."

PWLLHELI (p ronounced Poolthely) is situated at the Terminus of the Cambrian Railway, in Carnarvonshire, in the heart of one of the most beautiful and romantic districts in Wild Wales. The Sands cover a Stretch of five miles, extending from the Gimlet Rock to Llan- bedrog Head- The tide never recedes more than about 50 yards, and bathing can be In ;n indulged in at all times of till' day. Some idea of the firmness of the sand may be gathered 0. 01 o from the fact that at times Cyclists are able to ride the entire distance on the Beach. Glyn-y -weddw*, the large mansion built by the late Lady Love-Jones-Parry, is now converted into an .Art Gallery and Pleasure Gardens, and is open to Visitors. (See View.) This is one of the tiiOs: .-harming and picture que spots in Wales. It stands at the end of Hay, in gr<>unds of about 50 acres, four miles from Pwllheli, with beautiful walks along the tenures in the gardens, and rustic paths in the woods on the n side of the mount ain ro lie 'op, from where the uninterrupted view for miles around is unsurpassed in the country, including a good view of St. Tudwals and Bardsey Islands. It is so sheltered that camellias and other delicate trees and shrubs are grown in 'the open all the year round. The Art Gallery contains over 400 very fine Paintings and Drawings by P. De Wint, David Cox, S. Prout, W. J. Muller, Clarkson Stanfield, R.A., J. B. Pyne, J. Syer, T. M. Richadscn, Copley Fielding, Sam Bough, J. Phillip, R.A., Carlo Maratti, D. Teniers, J. M. W. Turner, R.A., Sir E. Landseer, R.A., and other noted artists. The Entrance Hall, to ft. square by 36 ft. high, has several magnificent stained-glass t,windows, embracing coat-of-arms of historic families. The roof is a very fine piece of r .architecture in the Gothic style, lighted by a fine dome in the centre. A tramway runs direct from Pwllheli along the sea coast to the entrance of the grounds. A most beautiful and enjoyable drive of over 4 miles. Cars run every half-hour. n y Fare-Id all the way. Terms for School and Picnic Parties on application. Bardsey Island is also one ot the attractions, being noted for its many historical associations sailing boats 7C convey parties c- the T-land may be hired for a small sum. Walks and beautiful Drives are also a great feature in Pwllheli, and as a Cycling Centre no better could be desired. There is a good Cricket Ground provided, and the Golf Links (9 hole course) were laid out under Professor Morris, of Hoyiake. The Links are within 3 minutes' walk of the West End Hot-1, and are under the superintendence of a Professional, who will give lessons to beginners. eeklv or Monthly Tickets may be obtained from the Estate Otficc or the West End Hotel. For the Season.—The services of a First-class Ban 1 have been secured for the Season, and it will perform oil the Parade daily in Jivy, August, and September, mornino, and evening. Free seating accommodation on the West. End Parade for thousands of visitors. In the afternoon the Band will generally be playing in the Grounds at Glyn-y- weddw.
