LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, Having had the honour of being a member of your ^0Ullc'l f°r nearly six years, and my term of office now expiring, I venture to offer myself once 1ilore for re-election. During the time referred to, I have always en- avoured to serve you faithfully and diligently, and y aim has been to act independently in all matters, in f Paving the confidence I have gained amongst in^' ie-i- °-'vv"~Councillors, I may be allowed to say that, T" ^otl being a member of the Finance and luting Committees of the Council, I have been ecteu one of its three representatives on the Local overning Body of the Intermediate School, on two annual occasions I have been unanimously chosen as jsole representative upon the Court of Governors f J Ban«or University, and for five years I have cted as a member of the Technical School Commit- eP:—and all the duties appertaining to these im- ^tant bodies I have endeavoured to fulfil in an efticient manner. In matters of the expenditure of your money, aI- lough not opposed to any improvement of a real permanent nature, in the present financial con- rp '+1 ^le BorouKh. have deemed it my duty to esist all projects which I did not consider to lave 1 ly come up to that standard; and on those grounds, I Was the first to object to the squandering of public loney on such an ill-advisei scheme as that pertain- ng to Lon Llewelyn; and I can only hope that the Ottsistent and determined opposition the scheme has let with, will ultimate prove suceessful. Soliciting the favour of your Votes and Interest, I remain, Ladies and Gentlemen, Your respectful Servant, W. H. EVANS. Bridge Street, Denbigh, October 19th, 1897.

TO THE BURGESSES (W THE BOROUGH OF RUTHIN MANOR HOUSE. LADIES AXn Centime?, the third period for which you did me the honour 0 ? return me as one of your Representatives in the lown Council being about to expire, I have again 'lecided to solicit the favour of your support at the °rthcoming Election. I have for nine years endeavoured, fn different apacities, to serve you faithfully and if I am again honoured with a renewal of your confidence, I shall alWays support every movement that tends to in- crease the prosperity and attractiveness of the Town. f I do not think that the retiring Canditates need be afraid of appearing before you on the question of economy, for the rates have been reduced to the low- cst point consistent with efficiency, and the cost in- ClIrred in providing new footpaths in different parts of the Town has been spread over a period of twenty Yars, so that our successors will have an opportunity contributing towards defraying the expense of this excellent and much-needed improvement. The health of the inhabitants of a Borough such as Utliin depends largely upon the abundance and purity Jts water supply and if I am re-elected I shall *S&in try to prevail upon the Directors of the Water yompany to continue their efforts to prevent the re- 'Urrenee of the serious deficiency wo have lately Experienced. I shall look upon the support I get at the ensuing contest as the measure of your approval of my past Services. Again requesting the favour of your support, I have the honour to be, Ladies end Gentlemen, Your Obedient Servant, J. lVIEDWYN HUGHES, M.B. I October, 1897. J

TO THE BURGESSES I OF TIIE BOROUGH OF DENBIGH. Sadies AND GENTLEMEN, l A considerable number of Ratepayers within the •orough have prevailed upon me to become a Can- dIdate for a seat on the Town Council, at the fortli- ?°ttiing Election; Many feel that the all-important ,Mustry of Agriculture, as well as the extensive area outside the 1 'own proper, are at present but very in- adequately represented, and in this view I entirely concur. further, the subject of the Smitlifield, as is well- to you, demands much attention, and will re- to be dealt with with great care, if the Smith- is to prove a financial success, and if Denbigh is to retain its leading position with regard to its Fairs .t nd Markets. <:> At tlie same time, I will, if elected, pay due atten- |,0tl to a1! matters affecting the welfare o"f the trough and its Inhabitants generally. respectfully solicit your Votes and Interest.
