Unvoiino Sohwl Boud BNUM. To the RATWAYXRS of the Pariah of Llamwonmo especially these residing at Mountain Ash. LADICS AND GUTLIMIH,— My time of service on the above Beard has ence more expired, and I again venture to ask yen to support my candidature in the eeming Election. Fifteen years have passed since you am con- ferred on me the honour of being your represen- tative on the Llanwonno School Board. For the last six years I have conducted the affairs of the Board as its Chairman. The manner in which I have discharged my da ties, and the constant application to the work connected with the education of the children, &c., have been so fully reported from time to time by the public press, that Iassnme it is nnneceseary for me to dwell on the subject here. During the last three year. I have attended 31 Board Meet- ings, 25 School Management Committees, 24 Financial Committees, and 17 Building Commit- tees; total, 93 Meetings. Beside this, I have to attend twice A month en the Duffry* Joint School Committee. The result of our work at a Board* for the last three years, is, I believe, most satis- factory. Of the 17 Departments examined under the New Code in the year 1883, 6 were classed Excellent, 8 Goed, and 3 Fair; in 1884, 10 were classed Excellent, 6 Good, and 1 Fair; in 1885. 18 were classed Excellent, and 4 Good. The averages of paist-es during the same period were 94 7, 94 8, aad 97 per cent. respectively, and the grants earned in the last thres years, namely, 1883—4 & 5, amounted to fl,939 168 3d., £2,OS2 188 8d., and .!2,378 9a Id; total, £tJ,401 21 7d. In conclusion, I promise you. th t, if returned, I will endeavour to Berve in the future, as in the past, and wonld beg to inform those whose per- sonal acquaintance I have been unable to make that my services in the past, whether in connec- tion with the Local Board of Health, Board of Guardians, or the School Board, have bees duly appreciated by my colleagues, and heartily ap- proved by a great majority of the Ratepayers of the Parish of Llanwonno. I am, your obedient servant, THOMAS BDWABDS. LI-ttty Ivor, Mountain Ash, February 8th, 1886.

Llanwonno School Board Election. To the RATEIUYBBS. Ladies and Gentlemen, You will be called upon on the 22nd day of this month to make your triennial selection of 9 memVers to constitute the School Board of this parith. I have received pressing invitations from gentlemen of influence to offer myself as one of your candidates. After thonghtfal consideration. and much anxiety, I have resolved to seek your suffrage. I am an old resident in the locality, having lived amongst you for upwards of 40 years. During that prolonged period 1 have been a heavy ratepayer, and have always felt a keen interest and taken an active part in promoting the general welfare of the community. I am duly impressed with the importance of education, believing that it lies at the root of all real and lasting progress. On the other hand, I shall deem it my duty to see that the wisest economical arrangements are made in the interest of my fellow-ratepayers. Having time at my disposal, which I shall be most happy to spend in furthering the educational interests of the parish, I beg to ask for your vote on the day of the poll. If elected a member of the Board I promise you conscientious devotion to duty. I am, Yours obediently, DAVID ROWLANDS, Feb. 10th, 1886. Builder.
To the Ratepayers of the Parish…
To the Ratepayers of the Parish of Llanvonno TRIENNIAL ELECTION OF SCHOOL BOARD. Ladies and Gentlemen, On the 22nd of this month yoa will be called upon (once more) to elect Nine Members to form the Llanwonno School Board for the Sixth Term. Having had the honour of being one of yoar representatives on the Board for the last Nine years, and having, to the best of my abilities, faith- fully carried out the trust you reposed in me, I again place my services at your disposal. Should you return me to the new Board, I promise that nothing on my part shall be wanting to give you every satisfaction in carrying out the onerous duties devolving upon every member of a School Board. At the first meeting of the Board that now oeasec I was unanimously appointed Yioe-ohair- man. During the last term I have attended 99 Meetings and Committee Meetings of the Board. You have Nine Votes, the whole of which you can give to me. I trust to your faithfulness on this occasion, as I understand that a strenuous effort is being made to prevent my return to the New Board, not because of any fault in me as a member of the Board, but to carry out a revengeful spirit from another quarter, which is a gross injustice and unfair. I trust to the honesty and good sense of the Ratepayers. Yours very faithfully, Bryngia", IDRIS WILLIAMS. 9th February, 1886.
Llanwonno School Board Election.
Llanwonno School Board Election. To the ELECTORS of the Llanwonno School Board. Ladies and Gentlemen,— I beg to offer myself a candidate to repre- sent you at the above Board. Should you confer upon me the honour of being elected as one of your representatives, I shall support strongly all measures for the improvement of the education of the working classes. As you are aware, I have been a representative of the district upon tlie Pontypridd Local Board, and I trust my conduct in that capacity will serve as a recommendation of my services for the honour I now seek. If returned, I shall exercise all my influence for the furtherance of your interests, especially in the avoiding of all unnecessary and uncalled for expenditure. I am, Ladies and Gentlemen, Your obedient Servant, WILLIAM WHITE PHILLIPS, Phillips' Terrace, Havod.
Llanvonno School Board Election.
Llanvonno School Board Election. To the RATEPAYERS of the Parish of Llanwonno. Ladies and Gentlemen,— The late School Board having completed its term of service, I beg to offer myself as a candi- date in the coming Election of the new Board. I have not before availed myself of the opportunity of contesting a seat on this Board, but a long-felt desire to bring about reforms in some of its bye- laws which are prejudicial to the welfare of the working class prompte me to do so. I am of opinion that the Standard which it is necessary for a boy to pass under this Board before being permitted to go to work should be lowered-the required Standard of proficiency for a boy of J 2 years of age being the 6th, whereas in the adjoining parishes of Ystradyfodwg and Llan- trisant the required standard is the 4th. The Katepayers of this parish are consequently placed Under a disadvantage in this respect to their neighbours. I am desirons that a child should, receive the highest possible education, but I consider that it is a severe hardship imposed upon parents to be compelled to keep a boy in eehool when he could be aeeisting them in providing for the wants ef the family. I wish it to be distinctly understood that it is not my intention to represent the views of any particular section either in politics or religion, but to promote the interest* of the Ratepayers in general. If you will do m. the honour of returning me, it shall at all times be my sincere pleasure to serve you to the best of my abilities. I have the honour te he, Ladies and Gentlemen, Your obedient servant, Troedyrhiw House,. 0. J. N. GRAY. Mountain .Ash, Feb. 10th, 1886.

Incase you will-cheerfully remderme your valuable support on the day of the pell, I promise most fnitbfally to bear ia mind the in- terest ef your ohildren, who require Bdaoational advantages, and ak the same time endeavour to keep the School Boar d rates as low as porsible. Trusting you will deem me worthy of yoar oen- fideaoe and he) p. I have the honour, ladiee and gentlemen, To remain Your Obedient Servant, MORUAN HUMPHRBY JONBS, Aberlleehaa Shop, Baptist Minister. Llanvonno School Board Election.
Llanvonno School Board Election. To the Ratepayers of the Parish ot Llanwonno. Ladies and Gentlemen, I beg to offer myself a Candidate for the above Board. I am an old inhabitant of Ponty- pridd and have felt great interest in the religions Education of the yonnc and youths of our town. I was the originator of the firet library, twenty, five years ago, and collected a number of volumes which were presented to the present library. I took a very prominent part in the formation of the present School Board, and have been delighted at the advance our children are making ia all the branches of Education under the School Board system. I shall be pleased if you hononr me with a Seat on the Llanwonno Sohool Board, and will ondsavear to further the oanse of Education in the future as in the past, and to much greater advantage, by the advanced position and inflaeaee whieh your kind vote and sepport wonld give me, I only ask you to consult my past life and trust my future will be more prominent for good. Among other re- forms I will snpport the lowering of the standard for children leaving s II )01. Yoar vote will greatly oblige. (Yours obediently, JOHN CROCKETT. Pontypridd.

Llanvonno School Board Election. To the ELECTORS. Ladies and Gentlemen, Yon will be oalled upon in a few days to elect Nine Representatives to serve you on the above Board for the next three years. At the request of a large aumb.,r of Ratepayers I Knve consented to offer myself as a Candidate. Before the close of the last triennial period several vacancies occurred at the Board through death and removals; I do not, therefore, seek to prevent the re-election of any of the old members, but only to fill up one of these vacancies. Owing to my intimate acquaintance with the practical working of the Education Acts in an ad- joining Parish for the past fifteen years I have ae- quired eonsiderable experience, which will bo of great assistance to me if elected to servo on this Board. The primary object of the passing of the Bduea- tion Act was the education of all children in Elementary subjeots, and if returned it will be my aim at all times to keep this object in view. As a Ratepayer in the Parish, I ghall naturally endoavonr to deal with the affairs of tho Board ia tho most economical manner possible, consistent with the effioiency of the schools. Trusting 1 ahall be honoured with your confidence, I remain, Ladies and Gentlemen, Your humble servant, H. S. DA VIES. Pontypridd, Feb. llth, 1886.
