THROAT AFFECTIONS AND HOARSENESS. BROWN'S BRONCHIAL TROCHES, which have proved so successful in America for the Cure of Coughs, Colds, Hoarseness, Bronchitis, Asthma, Catarrh, or any irritation or sore. ness of the throat, are now imported and sold in this country at 1/1J per box. Put up in the form of a lozenge it is the most convenient, pleasant, safe and sure remedy for clearing and strengthening the voice in the world. No family should be without them. The genuine have the words BROWN'S BRONCHIAL TROCHES" on the Government stamp around each box.—London Depot: 33, Farringdon-road, and of all Patent Medicine Vendors. A PROTRACTED ELECTION. Both candi- dates for the county of Orkney and Shetland, Sir L. Lyell (R) and Mr. J. Cathcart Wason, Liberal Unionist, have now about com- pleted their campaign, and both are sanguine of success. At the last election Sir L. Lyell had a majority of 712 votes, but there were many abstentions, only about half of the electorate polling out of a constituency of 7,420. All the fishermen were away at the last election, but are now home, and, if the harvest operations do not interfere, it is expected to be a heavy poll. The polling took place yesterday (Tuesday) and to-day (Wednesday), and it will be next Tuesday before the result is known.
