Oarmarthen Couiity Petty Sessions SATURDAY.—At the Shire Hall, Carmar- then, before Mr C W Jones, Gwynfrjn (vica-chairman), in the chair, and Mr D L Jones, Derlwyn. DRUNK. Thomas John, Abergwili, pleided guilty to being drunk on the highway on the 16th iilt.-P.C James proved the offence, and a fine of 2s 6d and costs was imposed. UNLICENSED DOGS. Richard Davies, collier, Carway Village, Llatigendeirne, was fined 8s and 10s costs for keeping a dog without a license. The following farmers whowerc entitled to exemptions were each fined 8s 6d and costs for keeping a dog without a license W Jones, Tyllwyd-mawr, Llangunnor John Davies, Ferry Hotel and Cwmbuchan Farm Ferryside, and David Thomas, Wernddu, Llangain. This was all the business.

Cardigan Eutire Horse Show. Cardigan annual eDtire show came off with usual success on Saturday, and attrac- ted a large attendance of spectators. The appointed judge was Mr Buckley, Llanelly, but, as that gentleman bad previously judged at Llandyssul, Mr Stephen Morgan and Mr Hubert Wiiliams were added. The veterinary surgeon was Mr J Campbell Hill, Llanelly. The secretary was Mr D Morgan Jones (the town clerk), whose arrangements gave universal satibfaction. The show, from an agricultural point of view, is one of the principal events of the year as a holiday, bnt although the gate money was considerably more than usual, owing to its having been raised from 3d to 6d the number of visitors to the town was not so large as usual. The results were as follows: Thoroughbreds 1st, Mr J F Rees, Carmarthen, II Avnncez"; 2nd, Mr Owen Phillips, Amroth Castle, Sterling Bank." Pembrokeshire Yeonianry. In the House of Commons on Monday, General LaDrie asked the Secretary of State for War whether lie was aware that the 80th Pembroke Yeomanry had not yet recpived the South African War medal and whether in view of the fact that many of the Yeomanry had already received their medals he will arrange that there should be nojfurtqer delay in the issue of medals to the Pembroke men. Lord Stanley The medal roll now for- warded by this company after two applica- tions from the War Office is so incomplete that fresh rolls have to be prepared. It must be remembered that the checking (t the rolls and the subsequent engraving ot the individual medals require considerable time, and further that the rolls must be taken in their proper tarn. All possible expedition is being used in the issue of medals.

In the Houtso of Commons on Monday, Mr J Lloyd Wharton asked whether it was a fact that Town and County Councils by postponing the taking up of their duties under the Education Act, were forfeiting considerable sums of money which were now lying at their disposal iu the Exchequer ? In Sir William Anson saul t-io matter stood as stated by his tight hon. friend. Rate- payers were suffering coi.idorable loss for every month that thb operation of part 3 of the Act was delayed.

A large and repre- sentative number of theConference delegates were in attendance.
