Ruthin Military Ball. A SUCCEBFUL GATHERING. The seventeenth annual Ball of the officers, non-commissioned officers, and men of the B Squadron D.H.Y., D (Ruthin) Half-Company 4th Bait. it.W.F., and North Wales Brigade Army Service Corps was held at the Assembly Rooms, Ruthin, on Tuesday. The pro- ceedings were of a very enjoyable character, and success crowned the efforts o! the Committee and secretaries, ex-Colr-Sprgt C A Williams and Staff-Sergt A 0 Fox, who discharged their onerous duties .admirably. The lady patroness was the Hon Mrs Hawke and the president Mr Stanley J Weyinan, but they were, unfortunately, unable to attend. The patrons of the ball were :-Mrs Coltart, Misa Lloyd-Roberts, Miss Constance Preston, His Worship the Mayor of Ruthin (Dr T 0 Jones), Col W C Cornwallis-West, Col Sir Watkia W Wynn, C.B. Col G Mousley, Col T A Wynne Edwards, V.D. Col R Gregsou Ellis, Col Saxon Gregson Ellis, Col E J Swayne, Mejoi R Williams Wynn, Major G Blezard, Capt H B Hawka, Capt R Swetenham, Capt John Jenkins, Capt Watkin Davies, Capt Theodore Rouw, Lieut-Surgeon Anderson, Second-Lieut L Smith, m csirti E 0 V Lloyd, C B Jones- Mortimer, G H Dnton, Dr J Medwyn Hughes, Dr W F Byford, Messrs R V Johnson, li II Springmann, F Herzog, J J Lloyd Williams, T Magee, L G Thomas, W T A Jones, W J Jones, A 0:Evans, A Swainson, J K Williamson, Chief Officer E Tegid Owen. The M.C.'s were Sergt-Mapr Bruton, Sergt J L Roberts, and Sergt J F Beech. The hall had b3en very prettily deco- rated for the occasion with flaga, bunting, military accoutrnments, flowers, and decorations were kindly lent by Messrs J J Lloyd Williams, Grammar School T H Roberts, St Peter's-squ are; Capt Rouw, Messrs E Tegid Owen, C-istle Hotel Jno Roberts, draper; T Williams and Son, and W ynnstay Arms. Mrs Haselden's well-known and popular band was in attendance, and rendered tsome delightful dance music. A really excellent supper was served by the ladies of the Nursing Association Committee, who provided and arranged the whole thing in admirable style, and reflected the greatest credit on all con- cerned. Mr regirl Owen, the Castle Hotel, supplied the wines and spirits. The proceeds were in aid of the Ruthin Naraing Association.
