The chief matter before the meeting was about county school scholarshi examinations, and amongst the pointtl settled was a protest against "grammar" being a compulsory subject in the scholarship examina- tions. The watch is a most hand- some wedding gift, from the Nantlys estate tenants to Mr D F Pennant on his recent marriage, and is a proof of the real good feeling existing between Mr D F Pennant the < Pennant family, and the tenantry of the estate. The watch bears the following inscription.— "Presented to D F Pennant, Esq., by the Nantlys estate tenants and other friends, on the occasion of his marriage, April 2nd, 1902." The watch bears the cre&t of the Pennant family, wbieh is beautifully engraved on the back of the watch.
