CARDIFF EXCHANGE. BUTE DOCKS, THURSDAY. The coal market was in a most excited con- dition to-day, and buyers requiring a small quantity to complete the loading of a vessel were prepared to pay almost any price for the accommodation. The market figure for prompt shipment was about 15s 6d, but higher prices were paid for small lots. Patent fuel was quoted at 15s, and coke quotations were firm and advancing. In our local freight market outward steam chartering was almost a dead letter, the only fixtures reported being :— Barcelona, 10s, clean, name not reported. Stockholm, 5s 6d, clean, name not reported. Aden, 9s (Queen Anne). Shipments at Barry Dock on Wednesday, 6,327 tons 12 cwt. Vessels in dock, 72.
