TENBY RESIDENT WITHDRAWS NOTHING.
TENBY RESIDENT WITHDRAWS NOTHING. What I have said I have said." Many of our readers will call to mind the state- ment made some considerable time since by Mr Smith, of Cresswell Street. Such interest has it awakened in Tenby and the neighbourhood that we have commissioned a reporter to interview Mr Smith, who withdrew nothing from his statement, but on the contrary made a most important addition. "For months I suffered a great deal with kidney disease; I had severe pains in my loins, and when I stooped they were like a knife-stab," SP.VS Mr Thomas Smith, of Cresswell Street, Tenby. "At times I felt very ill, and I noticed the water was thick. "Since I have used Doan's backache kidney pills, however, I have been quite free from the pains, and the kidney secretions have been im. proved. In fact, I feel better now than I have done for years. I shall certainly recommend Doan's pills in return for the good they have done me. (Signed) Thomas Smith." Over 7 years later, Mr Smith said :—" My health has been first rate since my cure by Doan's back- ache kidney pills. I stand by all I have pre- viously said for this medieine." Doan's backache kidney pills are two shillings and ninepence per box, or six boxes for thirteen shillings and ninepence. Of all chemists and stores or post free, direct from the Foster-McClellan Co., 8, Wells Street, Oxford Street, London, W. Be sure you get the same kind of pills as Mr Smith had.
KNOTTY RACING POINT.
KNOTTY RACING POINT. — PECULIAR OBJECTION. PEMBROKESHIRE TRAINER REPORTED In the Kingsteigntou Handicap Hurdle Race at Newton Abbot on Tuesday, August 2nd, J. Hunt, the rider of Roden, who finished second, lodged an objfetion to Mr J. S. Reed's ^■Eolus, the winner, ridden and trained by \V. Donnelly, on the ground that the horse was whipped with a hunting crop at the first flight of hurdles by somebody other than his jockey. The stewards, after investigating the matter, decided to refer the case to the stewards of the National Hunt Committee. The objection to LEolus was referred back to the local stewards for decision, and they, having regard to the fact that there is no clause in the rules con- stituting the .alleged act an offence entailing disqualification, have overruled it, and ordered £5 deposit to be returned, but in view of the evidence supporting and confirming the grounds on which the objection was lodged the stewards reprimanded Donnelly, the trainer and rider of JEolus, and have reported him to the stewards of the National Hunt Committee.

FUTURE OF PYIILFORD.I
FUTURE OF PYIILFORD. GREAT FISHING CENTRE. I BEYOND REACH OF RIVALRY." SPEECH AT DOCKS COMPANY MEETING. Mr Newbon, chairman of the Milford Docks Company, presided at the ordinary half-yearly general meeting of the company, held at the offices, Queen Victoria Street, London, last week. The report stated that the earnings for the past half-year provided the sum of JE5094 17s. lOd. for interest on the A Debenture Stock, or 25s. per cent., against 28s. for the six months of 1909. The Chairman, proposing the adoption of the report and statement of accounts, said when ho mentioned the diminution of interest at the February meeting on the A Debenture Stock the reason was mainly due to the general depression in the fishing trade. For the first half of last year, compared with 1909, there was a shortage of 3s. per cent., and against that there was the in- crease in the cost of maintenance and tho decrease in their earnings. The mackeral season began well, but was shorter than usual. Consequently the increase of Is. per cent. for six weeks was not maintained. The hope of the directors was that most of the shareholders were not holders of the A Debenture Stock as speculators waiting for a rise in the market, because those who were would be frightened at the fall of a few shillings. The Chairman said he hoped the shareholders would stand by them until Milford had been brought beyond the reach of rivalry as a fishing centre. As to the ice trouble, they had made arrangements to put the company in a position to provide ice for the fishermen and merchants so that the trade might not be lost through a defi- ciency in that respect. The directors proposed to give notice of a Bill in Parliament next Session to provide for this and also for an extension of time for the construction of the deep-water pier. Re- specting the purchases of land necessary for the extension of the business of the company, the Chairman referred to their acquisition of what was known as the Old Gas Works site, and the wooded property which was known to all who had been to Milford. They had thought for some time that if that should come into the market the company should buy it, so that the intervening water space could be filled up and the land reclaimed. The purchase was effected last June. The other property comprised two houses on the foreshore, close to the Old Dockyard. That would be valuable for an extension of the quay space to the docks. The directors, he said, were unanimous in the necessity for those purchases, and they thought Milford would shortly be a far more important place than it was now. That could not be accom- plished if they continued to go on in a hum-drum way. They looked to the development of the herring trade to help them, and on the reclaimed land they could erect curing houses. Milford should be able to do the same as other ports and offer sites for factories. Milford had had its opportunities, and she was now seizing them. Fishguard, with all the Great Western money behind it, would never take rank with Milford, but they still needed public support and people to adopt that view. Sir W. II. Quayle Jones, K.C., seconded the motion, which was carried. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the proceedings.

INARBERTH WOMAN'S-SUICIDE.
NARBERTH WOMAN'S- SUICIDE. 18 e'. Mr H. J. E. Price, county coroner, recently held an inquest at Narbertli on the body of Miss Lizzie Ann Edwards (32), of High Street, Nar- berth, who committed suicide by hanging on the previous Saturday. Deceased, who is a single woman, was preparing breakfast for her mother when the suddenly left the room. A few minutes later her mother went to look for her, and dis- covered her daughter suspended from the ceiling of a loft over the kitchen by a piece of cord. When cut down life was extinct. Evidence was given by George Edwards, brother to the deceased, who said he left for his work as a cabinet-maker on Saturday morning, He returned for breakfast at 8.30, and his sister waited at the table. His mother was in bed, being an invalid. Witness again left the house at nine o'clock, and his sister seemed all right, although for sometime she had been depressed because her neice had gone away to a situation. There was nothing else, so far as he was aware, to oause her to worry. He had made an exhaus- tive search, but had not been able to find any letter which would throw any light on the deed. P.S. Thomas said that when he went to the house he found the deceased fully dressed. She had hanged herself by means of a piece of cord from a window sash. Deceased must have got on a box near by, and jumped off. The doctor stated to witness that death was due to suffocation. A verdict of suicide by hanging during tem- porary insanity was retured.
