We beg to remind our readers that the concert for the benefit of the Creche in Tenby, will take place this evening. There will be a slight altera- tion in the programme as printed, for we hear that Major Cochrane whose humorous ditties are so well known and appreciated, is going to favour the audience with a song. The following other ladies and gentlemen will take part:—Miss C. Milman, Miss Philipps, Mr West, Miss Houldsworth, Mr Evans, Miss Roberts, Mr and Miss Evans, Major Cochrane, and Rev G. E. Warlow. We are asked to state that it is proposed to arrange for a torchlight or illuminated cycle pro- cession in Tenby some time in September, should a sufficient number of cycling ladies and gentlemen express their willingness to assist and so guarantee its success. Any cyclists wishing to participate, will kindly give in their names at either Farley's or Crockford's Libraries, Tenby; or communicate by reply postcard with Mr F. P. Jones Lloyd, Tenby. Notice of time and place of rendezvous would be given in the Observer. We are asked to state that any other friends wishing to join in the testimonial to the Rev G. E. Warlow, must send in their contributions on or before Monday, the 16th inst., after which date the list will be closed. ———— We understand that the lecture which will be given to-morrow in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms in Frog Street, by Mr H. J. Allen, formerly H.M. Consul in China, will be illustrated by a magic lantern and slides on Chinese subjects, specially sent for from London. As the lecturer has been over 26 years in China, and has had ample opportunity of observing the manners and customs of the inhabitants, the lecture ought to be a success if it is well attended as we hope it will be. The proceeds will be given to the funds of the institution where the lecture is held. —— The kind assistance of visitors to Tenby is invited for the following deserving case, recommended by the Rector of Begelly, and donations will be gratefully received by the Honble. Mrs Malcolm, Lavallin House, Tenby. The eyesight of Thomas Davies, of Little Wooden, near Tenby is per- manently injured by two accidents in the coal mines, and he has recently been in an infirmary. Possession of a pony and cart would enable him to gain a livelihood by selling his garden produce. He has a wife and large family. The first of the winter series of evenings for young people will commence with a word com- petition, in the rooms of the Young Women's Christian Association, Frog Street, on Monday next, at eight o'clock; when further interesting announce- menta as to future arrangements will be made. Miss Townsend will address a meeting of ladies at the Gate House Supper Room, on Monday, September 16th, at 2.30 p.m. on the Woman's League."
