The schooner Maggie of Ardrossan, from Connah's Quay to Swansea, with bricks, when working through Skerries Sound, off Holyhead, on Saturday, during a strong ebb tide, was carried down to the dangerous rocks known as the East Platters, where there is a great race of tides and overfalls. Two lifeboats put off, and the men were received on board the Cemlyn lifeboat. They returned to the ship, but had again to take to the lifeboat on account of the boiling tide. The ship floated off the rocks and the captain engaged a tug, and she was towed safely to Holyhead Harbour, arriving about 9.30 p.m. The vessel is much damaged.
