It T St. Barnabas* Vicarage, 558, Caledonian Road, Holloway, London, N. 7. LIFTING THE BURDEN. Dear Friend, This is a large parish, and the work is heavy. We are doing what we can by preaching, by open-air services, by meetings in the lodging houses, by house to house visitation, by personal intercourse, and by all our various organisations, to bring home the Gospel to the hearts and lives of the people. We are fishers for the souls of men, our one aim is to bring them to a saving know- ledge, of Jesus Christ. Living agents are. necessary for such work. v It is a great joy and a great privi- lege to serve the Lord Christ. L So far as possible, we en- j deavour to help those in need, the j aged, the widows, those in frail health, the spinsters of advancing I years struggling with adverse cir- cumstances. We remember the word of r God: "Thou shalt open thy hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to the needy." We remember the example of our Lord, and in all we do we keep the spiritual end in view. Please help me to lift the burden by your prayers and i". your gifts. Gifts of warm clothing will be 1 very acceptable just now. Gifts, large or small, for our Medical Mission, our Preventive ? Work or our General Fund for Work amongst the Poor, may be sent to the Editor of the Church Family Newspaper, or direct to me at the above address.
