THE IRON TRADE. WOLVERHAMPTON, Saturday. Trade here rules steady, but there is lass vitality about new business than could be desired. This is to be attributed to the nearness of the closing month of Ihe year. Finished iron is very firm because of the advances in raw materials. Pig* have risen nearly 5s per ton on the minimum coal, 2s to 2s 6d and cokes, 4s 6d to 5s. Sheets of 20in. g. are now quoted £6 lbs, and 24in. g. £ 7 to £ 7 los. Bars are maintained at £ 7 10s for best, with J! &s ofi as the Karl of Dudley's quotation. Messrs Barrows and one or two other houses still adhere to the old figure of £1; but Messrs Hingley, the New British Iron Company, and similar firms demand C7 108 for best, and Z6 10s second sorts. The report of an advance of 5s on hoops is confirmed. Pigs very strong.
