There was a large attendance of both home and foreign buyers, and prices compared with closing prices of last series show no material change in former. Tha attendance on 'Change to-day was fairly good, and a moderate amount of business was done in steam and house coal, prices for all descriptions remaining unaltered. Small coal, both steam and bituminous, were in moderate request at Monday's quotations. Welsh cokes were in good demand, and the enquiry for patent fuel and pitwood was fairly active. In our local freight market to-day chartering for steam has been fairly active, and the features reported have been above the average of the last few days. Rates for the higher Mediterranean ports con- tinue firm, and a similar remark applies to West Indian, Eastern, Spanish, and Gibraltar freights.
