Lawn Tennis Match at Haverfordwest An interesting lawn-tennis match took place on Friday last, the 28th, on the grounds of the County Lawn-Tennis Club at Haverfordwest. The teams were captained by Mrs Edwardes, of Sealyliam, and Miss Roch, of Plas-y-Bridell. There was a very fine exhibition of lawn-tennis throughout the day, and the match was very even. It resulted in a win ;for Miss Roch's team by 5 Matches to 4 11 Setts to 9 90 Games to 92. Thetefore it will be seen that Mrs Edwaides' team were better in point of games. The hostesses on the occasion were Mrs Edwardes, Miss Higgon, and Miss Gladys Samson, who dispensed hospital- ity to a large and distinguished company, repre- senting the leading houses in the north and south of the county. Miss Mirehouse, in spite of hav- ing recently put our her shouidei, played the first round, after which her place was taken by Miss Baird. The result was as follows, and we hear that a return match, to take place at the 1 ivy- sido, is being contemplated. Mrs Edwardes and Mr W Eaton-Evans beat Miss Roch, and Mr C Eaton-Evans 6-1, 6-0. Beat Miss Gower and Mr Grace 7-5, 6 3, and were beaten by Miss Begbie and Mr Roch 2-6, 7-5, 0-6. Miss Higgon and Mr Morley beat Miss Roch and Mr C Eaton- Evans 4-6, 6-0, 6-4. Were beaten by Miss wer and Mr Grace 4-6. 2-6. and were beaten by Miss Begbie and Mr Roch 2-6, 3-6. Miss Baird and MrVlIiggon beat Miss Roch and Mr C Eaton- Evans 6-2, 6-1. Were beaten bv Miss Begbie and Mr Roch 4-6, 5-8. And Mr V Higgon and Miss Mirehouse were beaten by Miss Gower and Mi- Grace 46, 3-6.
