BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP. The boxing match between Gunner Moir and Ian Hague for the championship of Eng- land provided on Monday night a most dis- appointing exhibition. Hague, to the astonishment of the onlookers, knocked Moir out in the first round. Both men looked strong and fit on entering the ring, and both received flattering receptions. Moir started to spar lightly with perfect confidence, but almost immediately Hague rushed in. Moir got away, but Hague again attacked, and Drought his opponent down. Moir took plenty of time to rise, and was sent down a second and a third time. A scene of wildest enthusiasm ensued when the gong sounded. Hague, who appeared quite dazed himself at this sudden turn of events, burst into tears. He was carried shoulder high round the ring by his seconds and received a tremendous ovation from the very large contingent of Yorkshiremen pre- sent.
