I Henry and Arthur Clews, the two brothers, I were between forty and fifty years old, and, both, unmarried, had lived under or.e roof all their lives. Lately their household bad been attended to by a Miss Martin, their in-other being bed- ridden. Miss Martin, who was wooed by both the brothers. finally accepted the elder, Henry, and the wedding was to have taken place a week hence. hence. Arthur was greatly incensed against his rival, and attacked him with a heavy blacksmith's hammer, inflicting terrible injueries about the head.
