J HOLIDAY SCHOOLS. I R. Laidlaw, M.P., opened a "holiday school"' for Walworth school children in Cai- vert-road, Greenwich, on Monday. As the name suggests, it is a compromise between holiday and school. Three hundred boys and girls from L.C.C. schools in Wal- worth are taken every day to Greenwich j during the summer 'holidays, and after they have done some work they are allowed to play I in the park. The work consists chiefly of singing, bead work, cane weaving, and paper flower making. At one o'clock the children are given din nor. Spccial trams bring the children from Wal- worth 3v3ry day and take them back again. TTie fare—2d. each way—is paid by thy Lagged School Union.
