The Welsh Club. On Tuesday evening last, the members of this Club witnessed the final round in the billiard handicap for the Prichard Jones Silver Cup. The two cueists who had suc- ceeded to reach the final stage were Mr. W. F. M. A. Atkin-the present holder—and Mr. John Roberts (the famous young tenor). The match was for 500 up, and it was soon apparent that the new-comer, Roberts, was more than a match for the holder, who was not up to his average form on this occasion. The final score was Roberts, 500; Atkin, 279 and the winner was heartily con- gratulated on his achievement. Evidently, there is something in a name and the Welsh John Roberts may prove as successful with the cue as he has already done with his sweet voice. Mr. Roberts, we understand, will remove his residence to London during the coming autumn, as his musical engagements are now becoming very numerous.
