THE Cardiff Rugby Football Club has voted 1362 10s. to various local charities, including Cardiff Infirmary, the Cardiff Blind Asylum, Cardiff Merciful Society,. Police Widows and Orphans' Fund, Deaf and Dumb Institute, Queen Victoria Jubilee Institute for Nurses, St. John's Ambulance, and Nazareth House. Even the strongest critics of football must admit that the winter game has its beneficial side, especially when played under the amateur rules. The Cardiff Club is exceedingly well managed, and the patrons of the football matches often include- many clergy and ministers, and prominent, citizens. Mr. C. S. Arthur, the secretary,, is a particularly able official.
