ADDITIONAL FACILITIES FOR STEAMBOAT PAS,SENGEIRS.-It sometimes happens that passengers by the Liverpool and North Wales Steamship Company's steamer from Llandudno to Caa-Darvon desire to remiain longer in Car- narvon than the vessel stays ,there before re- turning. The Company have. now arranged with the- railway company for such passengers to return by train at a small additional charge upon giving up their return- half-ticket at the railway booking office. The "La Marguerite" arrived ait Llandudno ii Sunday with a full complement of passengers, and another boat had to follow with those she could not accom- modate. The "ADVERTISER" is set up by the, Linotype Composing Machine, and machinery driven by electric motor, installed by iH. Will-oughby Lance, Llandudno.

STEAMBOAT RIVALRY. NORTH WALES STEAMSHIP COMPANY OBTAIN INTERIM INJUNCTION. In the case of the Liverpool and North. Wales Steamship Company v. the Mersey Trad- ing Company, Mr Peterson, K.C., applied ex- parte to Mr Justice Neville, in the Chancery Division on Thursday for an interim injunction to restrain the defendant company from, pre- venting passengers from the plaintiff com- pany's vessels having access to a certain pier. He stated that one, Wi-Hiam Hortoin claimed to be. the owner cif a pier created under a pro- visional order of the Board of Trade, and the Mersey Trading Company alleged -that they were lessees from h-im. The M-ersey Trading Company had. refused to allow the plaintiff company's paseng-ers to have access to the pier unless the company paid a sum of e450 a year. Under an Act of 1862 piers and harbours constructed under provisional orders were to be .open to all persons upon payment of certain dues or toils to be fixed by the provisional order. That was confirmed by an Act of 1892. The pier in question was made by tihe, Colwyn Bay Pier Company,, who had transferred their interest, and it was said it was now vested in William Horton. The plaintiff company were the owners -otf several vessels which landed tlie-ir passengers on the pier, but on the- 22nd and 23rd of the present month such passengers were excluded because the plaintiffs had re- fused to pay the P,450 a year. The reason for the defendants' action, said counsel, was not far to seek, as the Meirsey Company were the .owners of several steamships, land it was an attempt to drive out the traide. of the plaintiff company. His Lordship asked whether it was one of the piers that came within the Acts giving persons access IOn payment, of fixed tolls. Counsel said there could be no; doubt thfat it was. His Loirdsihip granted an interim injunction -over next Tuesday, restraining the defendants from eaocluding the plaintiffs' passengers from the' pier, and gave leave, to serve short notice of motion for that day. BILLIARD TOURNAMENT ENTRIES. The entries for this season's great billiard tournament in London closed to-day, the com- petitors being Dawson, Diggle, Halrverson, Reece, Aiken;, Lovejoy, and Collins. The heats will be 8,000 up, under Rimington-Wilson rules, and only 50 consecutive cannons will he allow- ed. The idea of the last clause is, of course, to limit the anchor stroke.

BILLIARD MATCH. HARVERSON (LONDON) v. WILLIAMS (MANCHESTER). On Monday afternoon, an interesting billiard match was commenced in the new billiard room of the Grand Hotel, Llandudno, the players being Cecil Harvexson, of London, and A. E. Wi'lliams, of Manchester, the hirer receiv- ing 1000 in the match of 8000 up. It was agreed that not more than fifty consecutive cradle cannons should be allowed. It will be remembered that last year Harverson played Diggle a match of 16,000 up at the, Pier Theatre of Varieties, Llandudno, receiving 2000 start, and won the game- by 254 points. At each sitting the spectators have followed the pro- gress of the game most closely, and enthusiasti- cally applauded the performances of the play- ers. When starting IOn Thursday both players were behind their points, but Harverson, pulled up rapidly, scoring 132 twice, also- 130 and 93, etic. Williams's best break was 102. He also made 65 and smaller breaks, but was ciut of form in the evening. Harverson, is still below ihds points. Closing scores an Thursday night: HARVERSON (in play) 5,032 WILLIAMS 4,882 The Grand Hotel Billiard Saloon, which is most luxuriantly fitted, is one of the finest at- tached to any hotel in the British Isles, having a due south aspect and containing when com- plete three fine billiard tables.
