TREFRIW. PENIEL LITERARY SOCIETY. On Friday evening-, the Rev. Evan Davies presid- ing, a paper was read by Miss Thomas, Rose Cottage, on "Capelulo," and by Miss Williams, Gwydyr House, on loan Jones, Ruthin, followed bv a paper on Florence Nighting- gale" by Miss Morris, Tanygraig. SOCIAL EVENING.—A social evening was held in connection with the English section of Ebenezer Congregational Chapel, the catering being in the capable hands of Mr. Chambers, Glan Arfon Temperance Hotel. The Rev. Henry Jones presided over a miscellaneous programme of music, &c. Songs were rendered by Mr. Bob Roberts, the Misses Morris (Tan y Graig), and Annie Charlotte Roberts (Bryn Afon). Recitations were given by Mrs Cutter and Nancy Prysor, whilsSt pianoforte duets were rendered by Mrs. Jones, Tanycoed. and Miss Kinna, and Mesdames Cutter and Jones.
