Notes and News. The National Eisteddfod at Colwyn Bay has been a great financial success. English critics declare that Welsh choral singing is on the wane: and this because two English choirs happened to win at Oolwyn Bay! According to the adjudicators, the literary section at Colwyn Bay was very poorly represented. Many prizes had to be with- held for want of sufficient merit. The three Gorsedd meetings held at Col- wyn Bay were highly interesting, and being favoured with fine weather, were well attended. One of the most inspiring addresses delivered during the week's gatherings was that by Mr. W. Llewelyn Williams, M.P. As a Welsh nationalist, and a lover of the language of Wales, Mr. Williams is a worthy example for our other parliamentarians to emulate. Mrs. Barney Barnato was admitted as an honorary member of the Gorsedd, with many other notable Saxons, at Colwyn Bay. The roll is now becoming extremely lengthy, and it is high time that the Recorder should advance his fees. Next month we are promised a revival in political interest in Wales. It is to be admitted that very little work has been done by our Welsh representatives during the past two months; but we presume that, like other mortals, they needed a rest after their arduous labours at Westminster. The Welsh Disestablishment question is to have a complete rest until the report of the famous Welsh Church Commission is com- pleted. This is expected at the beginning of January next year, and after that-look out for political fireworks! The literary critic of the Times states that the principal living Welsh poets are Elfed, Dyfed, Marsiant, Morris Jones, Eifion Wyn, Gwynn Jones, and W. J. Gruffydd. To class Marsiant with Dyfed and Morris Jones is gcod!
